Born to Be Wilde is the third title in the Wildes of Lindow Castle series, but can work as a stand alone. Featuring all of Ms. Jame's characteristic witty dialogue, likeable characters, several heart melting moments, and wonderful narration, this title is the perfect listen. I love the secondary characters and the family aspect to this series; I can't wait to see what happens to the next Wilde to find their match.

Rhys Bowen has delivered another well written mystery involving everyone's favorite royal, Lady Georgie. After Darcy leaves her in Ireland at his father's castle, Georgie decides to take her friend Belinda up on her offer to have Georgie visit her in Italy. Before leaving, Georgie stops by the palace for a visit with her cousin, Queen Mary to talk about the king's support for Georgie's request to be removed from the line of succession so her marriage to Darcy (a Catholic) can happen. While there, the queen asks (more of a demand) that Georgie stop by a house party near where Belinda is staying so she can act as the queen's eyes and ears to determine what the Prince of Wales and that woman (Wallis Simpson) are up to. Georgie finds herself traveling across the continent by herself and encounters an amorous German, Rudy, who she has to fend off. Upon arrival in Italy, things don't go quite as planned as Belinda is not at her cottage and Georgie's grasp of Italian is not the greatest. Of course, Georgie's mother happens to be a guest at the party and needs her help recovering some incriminating evidence from one of the other guests. Add in Nazis, fascists, an undercover Darcy, and a murder, and you have an engaging mystery that only Georgie could stumble upon. I enjoyed this title immensely and can't wait for Georgie's next adventure. As always, the narration is perfect - I can't imagine reading this series in print after having experienced them in audio.

This story reminds me of the screwball comedies popular in the 1930s; I laughed numerous times throughout. If you are looking for an enjoyable undemanding listen featuring an insecure duke and a would be archologist heroine, then this is the book for you.

The Soldier is a beautiful tale of two wounded souls - St. Just suffers from PTSD and a feeling of never quite belonging to his family after his mother left him with the Duke and Duchess of Windham. Emmy is is not accepted by her neighbors and is trying to handle her young cousin Winnie, who has a tendency to wander off for long periods of time. Watching St Just and Emmy come to terms with their past and realize they are deserving of love was a wonderful experience. Grace Burrowes has a wonderful way of bringing emotional depth to her stories and showing the little things that show caring in a relationship. I look forward to Lord Val's story. I also just saw Tantor is picking up the rest of the Windham stories about the daughters later this year and I will be making sure to hoard credits so I can get them on release day.

Although this was Grace Burrowes's debut novel, it was unavailable in audio until now. Narrated like the rest of Grace's titles, James Langton does a fantastic job narrating - all 3 of the Windham brothers are easy to tell apart and the female voices are very well done. Anna Seaton finds herself as housekeeper to Gayle, the Earl of Westhaven during a very hot summer. In hiding with her sister, Anna finds herself wanting to trust Westhaven with her secrets as they start to fall in love. I loved this book in print, and the audio is even better. The thing I love most about Grace Burrowes titles is that there is an emotional depth to her titles that aren't found in many stories these days. It's not just the grand gestures and dramatic moments that make up her romances, but the little things in everyday life that help show the depth of feeling that Anna and Westhaven develop towards each other. Westhaven's brothers are interesting characters in their own right who will see their stories released in audio over the next couple of months. I hope the Windham girls' stories will also be released in audio in the near future. I will be pre-ordering St. Just's story as soon as it is available.

If I had the option, I would have rated this 4 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed the start of Deacroix's new series revolving around a Templar treasure from the Holy Land being transported back to Europe. The narration was well done and added to my enjoyment of the story. This first book features Gaston, who has recently inherited his brother's French title and Ysmaine who has buried two husbands yet remains untouched. Gaston is asked by his order, the Templars, to complete one last task - transport a treasure from Jerusalem which is at risk to headquarters in Paris. Ysmaine finds her self in desperate straights; her maid is extremely ill, and she has no money. Gaston observes Ysmaine in a church and offers her some money which she uses to pay for medicine for her maid. Deciding it might be better to return home already wed, Gaston offers to marry Ysmaine even after she explains her grooms have not lived past the wedding night. The couple weds and then joins a party of another Templar Knight (Wulfe), a merchant, and a nobleman returning to France and his father's death bed. Wulfe and Guston become uneasy allies in the pursuit of ensuring the safe transport of the treasure. Delacroix provides glimpses of the area during the groups flight to the coast and also midieval Venice. I enjoyed the relationship development between Ysmaine and Gaston and also both's willingness to sacrifice to ensure the treasure would arrive safely and for each other. Wulfe and Christina are interesting secondary characters who will be featured in their own book. Delacroix is a master of the midieval setting that feels authentic but yet the characters still remain relatedable to the modern reader. I am looking forward to future entries in this new series.

Brant and Wyndham are back again for the third installment of Alec Halsey's adventure. I'm not going to recap the story, but I can't stress enough how great Brant is at describing the fictional German principality Alec Halsey finds himself force to visit and brings to life the people and setting of the book. Wyndham's narration is spot on; my only compliant is that I have to wait for the next title from this author/narrator duo.

Alex Wyndham's narration is amazing - I hope he narrates more historical romance. Brant's local of Paris during the 1740s is brought to life thru vivid descriptions and serves as a nice change of pace from Regency historical. It was great to visit the Roxton family at the beginning of Antonia and her M'sieur le Duc. I can't say enough about how engaging of a story and listening experienced this is and recommend all the titles in this series and the Alex Halsey mystery series.

Chase's newest book features the trademark witty banter between Lady Clara and Radford that listeners of the Carsington series would expect. Clara is a pampered aristocrat who feels smothered in her pampered life. She decides to help one of the girls at a charity she is involved with. It leads to a meeting with Radford who she had met as a child. What follows is a delightful and somewhat unconventional courtship. I appreciated the book didn't end with a wedding, but allowed readers to see Clara and Radford work thru the first days of the marriage. Kate Reading's narration is top notch as always. I can't wait for the next collaboration between Reading and Chase.

This is a great story for people who enjoy the friends to lovers trope. Richard and Maddie have been friends since she was 13 and he saved her from local bullies. Now it's Maddie's turn to save Richard and things don't go as plan. Finding themselves married, Richard has to learn to trust in love. A former lover and a man with a mystery agenda put Richard and Maddie's love to the test. Marian Hussey's narration was excellent and added to my enjoyment of the story.
