On of my favorite books ever...

This is one of my favorite books ever. I'm not sure how many times I have physically read this book but I love it. I had the abridged audio book years ago but it wasn't the same. Like a movie based on a book, the abridged version left so much out. When I found this unabridged version, I was over the moon. It is absolutely amazing. I will definitely be listening to this multiple times!

Great series but..

It's sad and unfortunate that because of Disney, the story will not continue, at least not in this time line.
I started reading these books while I was in the Marines, about 30 years ago. Its It's been like watching your family grow.
But now it's over. Although there will be new books to continue on the new time line, it will never be the same.
To all the Star Wars writers who have entertained me over the last three decades, thank you.
To all the characters I've "watched " grow and develop, come and go, you will be missed. Semper Fi!

The whole series is amazing to read. I finished reading the series well over a decade ago and, at the time, I was sorry to see it end. Over the last month or so, I was able to enjoy them all over again. Thumbs up to Dick Hill for his performance.
This series is a must read and a must listen.

I've actually read this twice, and have listened to the disks countless times, and now on Audiobooks, it's still amazing.
Jim Dale is absolutely fantastic!! A great story teller in and of itself. His use of all the different voices makes it all come alive!!

This was a great look inside the minds of these vets. I served 5 years in the Marines and am lucky to have come out fine, although my wife may have some objections about that.
I would have loved to have heard a lot more of the stand up routines. The few that I got to hear was just a tease.

What an amazing story/book.

I have already read this book several times, and gets me every time.
I served in the Marine Corps during Desert Shield and Storm. I never experienced anything close to resembling what these brave men went through and I hope I never will.
All of these men, survivors and fallen, should be remembered always.
My heart goes out to all of them and their families.
Everyone should read this book and keep their memories alive.
