Get this one! It's worth it!
Revisado: 10-15-24
I listened to the first two books of the 'Nightmareland Chronicles' and was so hooked that I couldn't wait for more audible and bought the kindle version of three, four, five, and six. Currently on four and enjoying it immensely! The characters are relatable (some likeable, some horrible), and the premise is unusual and really believable. To put my adoration of this series in perspective, I'm over 60 and usually asleep by 9:30. Book three kept me up until 3:00am because I just had to know what was next! Loving it!

Historia
It’s the mid-'90s. Grunge and flannel are fading as the Spice Girls and Hot Topic conquer the malls. Cherry gloss glistens on the lips of the youth. Modems hiss as America comes online. And in a fog-drenched cove at the edge of New England, something terrible awakens when a fisherman reels in a gruesome catch: the remains of a young woman. Remains still pulsing with furious life.

Gag reflex and child abuse
Revisado: 06-10-23
admittedly, I am not a fan of either of the above but, I can handle a bit in the course of a good horror story. This was not a good horror story. It is nothing but gagging and being disgusted, not frightened. This author must have stayed up nights to find the most disgusting, gag inducing, cruelties that he could. I would hate to see his search history.

porn
Revisado: 07-22-21
I was looking forward to a great mystery/ghost story and this could have been that. If not for the constant sex. It is obvious that this is nothing but porn disguised as an actual novel. I kept trying to find the story within the continuous fantasizing about 'cocks' and 'holes' and 'heat'. The authors need to release their obsession with gay sex and remember that love is more than 'cocks' and a ghost story is supposed to be about ghosts. Very disappointed. Returning.

Historia
An extraordinary debut novel of love that survives the fires of hell and transcends the boundaries of time. The narrator of The Gargoyle is a very contemporary cynic, physically beautiful and sexually adept, who dwells in the moral vacuum that is modern life. As the book opens, he is driving along a dark road when he is distracted by what seems to be a flight of arrows.

Not Scary
Revisado: 10-16-18
I love a good horror story but couldn't even get through the first chapter of this book. That being said, I obviously don't know if it was actually scary or not. I do know that it was stomach turning, horrific, intensely graphic and that it made me cry for the victim. If not for the unrepentant gore, I may have been willing to find out but, gagging myself at 12:00 am is not my idea of fun. returned.

One of those rare stories that you wish would never end. The characters are likeable, the plot is immersive and the writing and narration are perfect. I rarely do more than star a book but this one deserves recognition.
