Historia
Days after winning OASIS founder James Halliday’s contest, Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes everything. Hidden within Halliday’s vaults, waiting for his heir to find it, lies a technological advancement that will once again change the world and make the OASIS a thousand times more wondrous - and addictive - than even Wade dreamed possible. With it comes a new riddle, and a new quest - a last Easter egg from Halliday, hinting at a mysterious prize. And an unexpected, impossibly powerful, and dangerous new rival awaits, one who’ll kill millions to get what he wants.

Second Chance for the Second Book
Revisado: 08-30-23
I read Ready Player Two IRL as soon as it came out and I wasn't impressed, I felt it rushed the quest and just didn't capture the feel of the first book. I downloaded the audio book as soon as it came out but it sat unread in my library until just this past week because I just didn't feel motivated to give it a try. However, I was talking to a friend recently that had just finished RP1 after my recommendation and decided that I was likely being unfair to RP2 just because of my absolute love of the first book.
So this past week I gave the audio book a listen, and I'm so glad I did. Yes, the quest does feel less grand than the first book but that's understandable, this book was about more than that and this quest was supposed to be easier because Halliday wanted it completed and expected it would probably be completed by Ogg. It also didn't have quite the same nostalgia capture as the first book but again I think that was because the first book already did that and a massive nostalgic battle at the end just wouldn't have fit.
So if you have just finished RP1 and listen to our read RP2 and feel like it didn't hit the same way, just give it some time and "Try Again", I think it won't disappoint!

Historia
Gideon is that close to striking it rich - again. The flaw that always seems to trip him up is that he is a con man, a swindler, and a thief. The entire galaxy seems to have it in for the poor crook. Of course, his task of staying alive isn't made any easier since he has to bring along his ex-girlfriend, who has become a zombie. Then again, maybe dragging along Rigel, the universe's dullest man from the galaxy's most dangerous planets is even worse? You choose. Will Gideon ever catch a break?

Very reminiscent of Douglas Adams, zany fun that doesn't and shouldn't require significant thought. just enjoy the whacky ride!

Historia
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

That's a Wrap!
Revisado: 12-20-22
What a finale! 15 books and a fantastic story Craig knew how he wanted this story to end from the beginning and it shows he pulled every piece together to bring us to a great completion. Of course, I will always want more story, but in life the story never truly ends. Absolutely love this series and I'll go back to it again and again!

A fantastic continuation of the Galaxy's Edge universe, I absolutely loved hearing where the story has gone from Season 1. As always R.C. Bray delivers a masterpiece of a performance driven by excellent content.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Epic SciFi Reminiscent of the Bobiverse
Revisado: 06-04-21
Absolutely loved this story, finished it in just over a day! The story reminded me much of the Bobiverse series with great scientific discovery not only of the primary issue but of all the side effect discoveries along the way. Ray Porter's narration was easy and fun to listen to. The solutions to each problem didn't feel too much like SciFi McGuffins and the problems that crept up felt natural and not forced just to move the plot along. I particularly loved the time jump method of storytelling.

I still trust the awesomeness!
Revisado: 12-28-20
I've been following this series since Columbus Day was released and the only complaint I have is that I didn't wait until he finished writing before I started! Brushfire is a fantastic continuation of the story, the universe has gotten much larger and much more complex and it shows in how Skippy and Joe have so much more to think about with each crazy scheme. I am amazed at how quickly Craig Alanson can churn out these books (though it will never be quick enough) and R.C. Bray continues to bring vibrant life to every character.

Historia
It was looking like Lady Luck had quite a grudge against him. In fact, at this point merely crashing the multi-billion-dollar ship he had helped design would have felt like winning the lottery compared to his current dilemma. If only he were so lucky. Things had started off all right - that is, until a freak wormhole unexpectedly swallowed his ship, leaving him stranded on an unknown planet far, far from home.

Good but Awkward Listen
Revisado: 08-31-19
Liked the story, good world building. Charlie seems to accept his reality changes pretty easily, doesn't seem to struggle much with what happens to his former crew. The narration was a little awkward, sounded like it was being narrated in his mother's basement, every time there was "yelling" it was done in a weird hushed yell, kind of took away from the story for me.
Overall I still really liked it and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

I Give it 5 Beer Cans
Revisado: 07-03-19
I loved this format, it took a little getting used to the full narration and sound effects but very quickly I was sucked in and was bummed when it was over. The voice actors we're fantastic and I never thought I would hear Captain Janeway use such colorful language LOL! My only extremely minor grievance was that a couple of the musical interludes were longer than they needed to be and felt a bit awkward but that was hardly a bother. Thankfully they kept the fantastic RC Bray for Joe and Skippy as there could be no other voice for those two. Overall I would love to hear more of these!
