Historia
The Fall of Wisconsin is a deeply reported, searing account of how the state’s progressive tradition was undone and turned into a model for national conservatives bent on remaking the country. Dan Kaufman, a Wisconsin native who has been covering the story for several years, traces the history of progressivism that made Wisconsin so widely admired. Kaufman reveals how the “divide-and-conquer” strategy of Governor Scott Walker and his allies pitted Wisconsin’s citizens against one another, so powerful corporations and donors could effectively take control of state government.

The story is fantastic, and the narration for the most part is also high quality. However, the narrator is caught up by some of the city names in Wisconsin, which for natives of the area, can be jarring. Those who don't know that Waukesha is pronounced "WAH-keh-SHA" and not "Wah-KEY-sha" probably won't care or notice the miss. =]
Overall, though, it's definitely worth a listen!

What would the world look like if everybody had everything they wanted or needed? Trekonomics, the premier book in financial journalist Felix Salmon's imprint PiperText, approaches scarcity economics by coming at it backward - through thinking about a universe where scarcity does not exist. Delving deep into the details and intricacies of 24th-century society, Trekonomics explores post-scarcity and whether we, as humans, are equipped for it.

Phenomenal...

...but, for the love of Trek: Risa is pronounced Rye-sa, not Ree-sa.
Otherwise, this book is a delightful listen, especially for those who love Star Trek. I am not heavily into economics, but the comparisons made it accessible and entertaining. 10/10 would recommend!!
