Historia
Things can't get much worse for Detective Jane Tennison. Unceremoniously kicked off the adrenaline-fuelled Flying Squad, she now plies her trade in Gerald Road, a small and sleepy police station in the heart of London's affluent Knightsbridge. With only petty crime to sink her teeth into, Tennison can feel her career slowly flatlining. That is until the discovery of the most brutal murder Jane has ever seen: Charlie Foxley has been found viciously beaten to death with a cricket bat - his body dismembered and disembowelled.

Historia
It’s almost Mummy’s 50th birthday. The hot flushes have just started, and nowadays she barely recognises herself. She’s been a wife and mother for so long that she can’t quite remember what life was like pre-moppets (although they’re more like giants now). Speaking of, Jane is constantly partying and naturally more interested in passing her driving test than her A-Levels. In fact, trying to get the kids through their exams at all is almost as excruciating as waiting for their results.

Mummy is doing it again.
Revisado: 05-27-23
Loved it.
Again, a most entertaining listening experience.
Mummy is challenged with her own kids, teenagers, and her best friend's todler. Lots of laugh about Edward's view on things in the world around him. There is some romance and lots of shilots and wine.
Empty nest feelings also feature in this book and I am sure there are lots of Mummies who will get Sloshed, just thinking about their precious Muppets leaving the parental home.
Tbank you Gill, again a very entertaining book.

Historia
Why Mummy Drinks is the brilliant novel from Gill Sims, the author of the online sensation Peter and Jane. It is Mummy's 39th birthday. She is staring down the barrel of a future of people asking if she wants to come to their advanced yoga classes and polite book clubs where everyone claims to be tiddly after a glass of Pinot Grigio and says things like 'oooh gosh, are you having another glass?'

Mummy is special
Revisado: 05-22-23
Love the story.
Voice artist is excellent.
Mummy deserve a medal and all the shoes she could buy with her App money. She stayed 'sane' with the help of her expensive Gin when the In Laws made life a bit challenging. Hannah is sorted out with a partner and Katie also loves wine. Sam is still looking for love. The Muppets are busy with their gadgets and Simon is watch 'F ....., Wheeler and Dealer', dressed in his oldest shirt.
I am looking forword to the next Mummy book.

Historia
Why Mummy Swears is the much anticipated new novel from Gill Sims, author of the hilarious Why Mummy Drinks and online sensation Peter and Jane. It’s every parents’ nightmare - the start of the school holidays - and instead of sitting in the sun, reading a book over a cold, crisp glass of Pinot Grigio, Mummy has two bored moppets to attend to. After frantically booking sports camps, child minder slots, not to mention time off work, Mummy is exhausted. But this is only the beginning....

Historia
Claire’s family has gone nuclear. Her precious moppets keep calling Childline when she feeds them broccoli, she’s utterly Ottolenghied out at weekends and her darling husband is having an affair with her best friend. The question isn’t whether she needs a glass of wine, but is there one big enough? Enter the Sauvignon Sisterhood, a new set of friends brought together by a shared love of liquid therapy. Together they might just be able to convince Claire that, like a good bottle of red, life really can get better with age.

Laugh Out Loud in an aircraft full of people
Revisado: 04-22-23
When you have an hearing aid and listening to funny audiobooks people don't understand the reason you just burst out laughing. The Saterday Night Sauvignon Sisterhood made me guilty of looking completely nuts on an aircraft. Very good entertainment with lots if wisdom and life lessons.

Strong message in a short story.
Revisado: 05-01-18
'The People' is a story that will remain with me for a long time. The listener might be more aware of situations where possible intervention could occur, before just turning away.
I would like to recommend this book to listeners who are open minded and thinking out of the box.
