Historia
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

The story grows on you
Revisado: 05-07-22
At first I was not captivated by the story, it seemed simply to be another new world experience. As I listened, the story contained interesting relationships that drew me in to want to know more.

Not one off his better books
Revisado: 03-19-22
The author has a talent for writing interesting works, but this one lacks the hook to pull you in and drags through certain parts. Charter development is shallow, making it difficult to cheer or hate for them.

Historia
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

Terrible dialogue
Revisado: 12-27-19
A book should have 3 things: a good plot, good character development and good dialogue. The dialogue was so poor I couldn’t even finish two chapters.

Historia
After the War of the Gods, the demons were cast out and fell to the world. Mankind was nearly eradicated by the seemingly unstoppable beasts until the gods sent the great hero, Ramrowan, to save them. He united the tribes, gave them magic, and drove the demons into the sea. Ever since, the land has belonged to man, and the oceans have remained an uncrossable hell, leaving the continent of Lok isolated.

Great new series
Revisado: 11-02-19
I love the Monster Hunter series and I have found Larry Correia's new Saga of the Forgotten Warrior to be an even better series. His character development and action create a compelling story of a world of inequalities, honorable, powerful, heroes, and villains.

Historia
Gideon Crew - brilliant scientist, master thief, intrepid adventurer - is shocked when his former employer, Eli Glinn, vanishes without a trace, and Glinn's high-tech lab Effective Engineering Solutions shuts down seemingly overnight. Fresh off a diagnosis that gives him only months to live, Crew is contacted by one of his former coworkers at EES, Manuel Garza, who has a bead on one final treasure hinted at in EES's final case, the long-awaited translation of a centuries-old stone tablet of a previously undiscovered civilization: The Phaistos Disc.

Weak attempt to bring closure to this series
Revisado: 06-17-18
Overall the Gideon Crew series has been another masterpiece for Preston & Child in character development and creative plots. Unfortunately, this edition may be their weakest. They come across as trying too hard to end the series instead of using the strengths of the series to tell a compelling story.
A word to authors, Crew has became my favorite character surpassing Pendergast. Both characters have the ability to see things that others do not. Pendergast approaches situations with refinement and a Sherlock like interpretation of details. Crew exhibits a human, if not reckless with a plan, handling of situations to manipulate them to successful outcomes. While Pendergast might leave you in awe and aloft, Crew draws you into his adventures and life. I certainly hope that Preston & Child continue the keep Crew around.

Mass Effect in name only
Revisado: 03-06-18
If story had been marketed as a sci-fi story dealing with hopes and struggles of survival on a doomed colony ship, it could have been a better story. As a part of the Mass Effect series, I was disappointed. I kept expecting the scourage to show up for a life and death battle on the ship, and they were a no show except for damage to the ships in passing.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Slow start but story becomes rich
Revisado: 12-23-17
While I really enjoyed Sanderson’s the Reckoners series, I thought I would try this series. At first I found the story slow to develop and nearly stopped listening. I kept with it and found it became a very rich story with many twists and turns. By the end I knew I wanted to get the next book in the series.

Disappointing end to the trilogy
Revisado: 09-02-17
This is a disappointing end to Rho Agenda Assimunlation or a bad prologue to the the next continuation of Rho Agenda series. In this book the story moves in several different directions that fail to contrubute to an effective closing and like the story the main characters end by beginning three new journeys. The book contains interesting developments and the performance is superb. Unfortunately, it flows like three stories loosely associated.

Not Ryk Browns best
Revisado: 07-01-17
As a fan of the Frointer Saga, I have really enjoyed Ryk Brown books. This book was not up to his prior standards. I found the character dialogue nearly childish and repetitive. The enemy action illogical, and the popular characters acting like tired old people.I kept asking myself did Ryk really write this one.
I furthermore learned the value of a good narrator. The prior books were narrated by Jeffery Kafar, who gave energy to the characters. The switch to use David Drummond was a big mistake. David brought an old sound to the characters, which often threw me off looking for the character voice rendition by Jeffery. If they continue to use David, I don't think I will continue to listen to the series.
