Asking for a refund
Revisado: 02-02-25
I was very disappointed in this book because I heard about it through a trusted source on the Internet. When I started listening to it and kept listening to it all I heard was platitudes and worn out phrases that we’ve all heard 100 times. Now I’m supposed to go back to the mirror and tell myself how great I am.

Discover magazine recently called Richard Dawkins "Darwin's Rottweiler" for his fierce and effective defense of evolution. Now Dawkins turns his considerable intellect on religion, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes.

Historia
Grief Is for People is a deeply moving and surprisingly suspenseful portrait of friendship, and a book about loss packed with verve for life. Sloane Crosley is one of our most renowned observers of contemporary behavior, and now the pathos that has been ever present in her trademark wit is on full display. After the pain and confusion of losing her closest friend to suicide, Crosley looks for answers in friends, philosophy, and art, hoping for a framework more useful than the unavoidable stages of grief.

This book helped me
Revisado: 05-06-24
I recently suffered the loss of my wife’s death after 39 years and I’m struggling in multiple ways to deal with it. I found this book to be thoughtful and helpful and enabled me to move a tiny bit and for that I am grateful.

A ton of great information about self-publishing
Revisado: 04-30-24
There is a lot of great information about self-publishing. I especially liked the information about marketing and how to get more reviews. One thing that could have been better is for the author to give a downloadable PDF of important documents instead of asking listeners to go to a website and enter a specific URL to get the information.
Thanks for the great book.

Historia
Seth Andrews wasn't an idiot during his 30 years as an evangelical Christian. He wasn't unintelligent, nor did his IQ shift when he ultimately left religion entirely. He considered himself thoughtful, moral, reasonable, and at least as smart as the average person. In other words, he wasn't an idiot. Yet strangely, he often sounded like one.

His kindness shows through
Revisado: 03-18-24
I have had the opportunity to recently meet Seth in person, and he exudes a kindness and a caring that is wonderful to be around.
When you read this book, you will see that he can be very critical of Christianity, but never in a mean or mean spirited way. I think you will enjoy the book as I did, and I recommend all of other sets books as well.

I don’t know what happened
Revisado: 01-12-24
I listen to the entire book and was very intrigued by the characters in the plot line. The performance of the readers was excellent. I’m sorry to say though that I don’t understand what happened at the end. Who was the real bad guy or gal? Did they get caught? What happened to the missing women? Please somebody tell me what happened. I’ll pay you.

Historia
Issues of human rights and freedoms always inflame passions, and John Rawls's A Theory of Justice will do the same. Published in 1971, it links the idea of social justice to a basic sense of fairness that recognizes human rights and freedoms. Controversially, though, it also accepts differences in the distribution of goods and services - as long as they benefit the worst off in society.

There was two little meat on the bone
Revisado: 12-01-23
I was counting on this book to better explain the practical usage of Rawls’ original position and Rawls’ veil ignorance. How can these principles be applied in the real world? Does Rawls not give them real world examples in his book? I don’t know and I wish this book would’ve told us.

Historia
When a reclusive market gardener's death proves to stem from a 20-year-old bullet wound, Lieutenant Joe Gunther is presented with a very cold homicide to solve. But who was the victim exactly? A deeply private man eking out an ascetic existence from a hardscrabble mountain field, Abraham Fuller was virtually unknown to his neighbors, in the manner of someone pursuing more than mere solitude. The discovery of a bag full of unmarked bills and a body buried in the garden patch suggests that Fuller had motives beyond misanthropy.

terrible ending
Revisado: 04-25-23
This has been one of the most disappointing books I've read in quite a while due to the terrible ending.
The author even makes reference to the fact that the book is inconclusive and will require an additional book which they have not yet completed. the situation could be forgiven if they had waited to release this book until the second book was complete. But, for greed or who knows what, they chose not to do that. I'm very disappointed.
