Historia
It's not every afternoon that an enigmatic, comely blonde named Stilton (like the cheese) walks into the scruffy gin joint where Sammy "Two Toes" Tiffin tends bar. It's love at first sight, but before Sammy can make his move, an air force general named Remy arrives with some urgent business. 'Cause when you need something done, Sammy is the guy to go to; he's got the connections on the street.

Just the best…
Revisado: 06-22-23
The (arguably) best of Christopher Moore. The (indisputable) best of Johnny Heller. Go ahead… laugh yourself silly. I did.

Robicheaux in the pits...
Revisado: 03-21-21
Towards the end there is a section where Dave Robicheaux describes the characteristics of one of the main antagonists of the story, and it is painfully obvious that he is describing himself. More than the earlier books in the series, the detective’s serious character flaws drive his actions and the reader has to decide which side of the fence Robicheaux resides.
The performance is excellent, the audio quality and production values are amateurish.

Historia
Sydney is haunted by her past. Raised by a strict, religious family, she was sent to gay conversion therapy as a teenager when she was caught kissing a girl. Now only 19, she's trying to start over with a new life and a new name, but you can't escape the past.... Caroline is the most stunning woman Sydney has ever seen. Every night, Sydney hears her singing from her apartment window, and every night, Sydney's heart aches with something indescribable.

Depends What You’re Looking For
Revisado: 07-20-20
The key tenant for writers is “Show, Don’t Tell”. Getting readers/listeners involved in the characters and story requires some sort of emotional connection; it’s a writers job to provide those connections. The Longing could have been a great book but the exposition-heavy prose allows little room for feeling the effects of the protagonist‘s, and other primary characters, past. The story presents many issues that scream for some dramatic interaction, but there is little of that here: we are told what happenED instead of being allowed into the inner workings of the characters and experiencing events with them.
