Life and Choices

This is a great story about life. Everyone is dealt and hand and we make choices that shape our future. This book dives into what makes someone good or bad. It highlights the grey in a world in which people try to make everything black and white. So many things are stigmatized and this book challenges some of those stigmas and stenotypes all while telling a story of two people falling in love.

Narration: The performance was good. The narrator is able to tell the story in a captivating manner. Not the greatest performance, but definitely good.

Writing: The writing is good. I think the author had fun with naming. There were small jokes/puns and references made with naming. It wasn’t bad just distracting at points. EJ had more character development than Jinx. While Jinx and her family drama was interesting, EJ was the character that really went on the journey. The story may have benefited from only being told from EJ’s pov.

It’s 4 am. I stayed up to finish this.

Wow just wow. Let’s start with I love Lori Prince so the narration was 🤌. The story was cute and the characters were well developed. The end was a little rushed, but also I get it. Hard topics were covered, but it was done well.

Good deal

Overall: this was a good buy. 32 hours for 1 credit when the opening book alone is 1 credit on here is a steal. Writing is good, narration is decent, plots are there (some more than others).

Stories: the stories were good. Some had better plots than others and some character were more interesting. I like the starting and ending story selection. It makes the experience come full circle.

Audio: The narrator’s voice was odd and her pronunciation of some words make it seem like the voice is computer generated or something.

Structure: I absolutely hate that the chapters are numbered. This makes it difficult to go to a preferred story. Of course simple logic can get you to the story you want fairly quick, but chapter titles or at least something to easily discern which book is which would have been nice.

Surprised I liked it

This book was recommended in a group I’m in. I thought the age gap would not work for me, but it did. Both characters are written well. Their insecurities matched their lives/age. Every story isn’t going to be for everyone, but I find this well written with a good plot.

F-ing Fantastic

Fantasy, trauma, betrayal, love, banter, sarcasm….. this book has it all. The characters are easy to love and hate. The tension is relentless. I devoured this book. Part 2 please!!!!

Surprisingly Good

Good story. The plot is solid and it left me wanting more. I love sci-fi, but it’s usually male lead dominated. This is a breath of fresh air.

Hope

This sequel wasn’t necessary. We all could have continued with our beliefs of what happened with Charlotte and Sutton. However, I loved the collection of short stories detailing their life together. This book is warm and fuzzy. I think the most important thing this book gives is hope. Hope that the entire queer community can have all their dreams, personal and professional, and be happy with those who love them. Being judge on character and merits rather than who you love.
