Great progress for our characters

I liked the increased pacing of progression in this instance of the book. I won’t spoil any plot points, but I do think there was an improvement from the last one.

Travis Baldree + Davis Ashura = MAGIC

A progressive fantasy that makes use of the existing universe of Davis Ashura's other series. The magic system is awesome, and there are nods to other others that don't distract from the story itself. If you like Cradle and/or Beginning after the end, you will enjoy this just as much. No spoilers here, just spend that credit now, its more than worth it.

Intense fun from start to finish.

I am always left wanting more from Turtleme by the end of these books. They always end in a way that leaves more questions, but in a satisfying way. Again I’m frustrated to have listened to this on release, because now I have to wait for the next one. Great stuff from Mr. Baldree as usual and I can’t imagine a better voice for this series.

Will and Travis have done it again.

Will has replaced my favorite book with his newest release yet again. The characters are reaching their peaks and the battles are bigger than ever and the stakes keep rising. This is Shonen fantasy!

A Strong Cup of Cozy Adventure

Travis has built a curious world around a cozy town with three lumps of awesome. The prose is wonderful, the plot is engaging, and each chapter is like a lays potato chip - you can't read(listen to) just one. I finished this in a single sitting and regret nothing.

A Well Paced, Quirky, Unique, Believable LITRPG

Pros: a lot of character growth, cool skills, great personalities, good writing, great narration.

Neutral: The MC is a little OP in most situations, but not because it was gifted, he worked for his status. I don't mind this, but you might.

Cons: Some characters get left behind that I would have liked to see more of.

Expansive, Beautiful, and Fun

The start to a series you won't stop reading/listening until you catch up to the current book. Prepare to fall in love with characters and watch them grow with every installment. They feel organic, real, and flawed like all good characters should. The magic system is expansive, as well as the universe in which this book takes place. If you like progressive fantasy, congratulations on finding the peak. Really, it is that good.

A classic example of telling instead of showing.

The story, like many others in this genre... gets overshadowed by meteocre writing. A classic example of telling the reader how everyone feels, what they are thinking, etc... instead of showing. "curiosity laced her voice" is not a good way of telling us that she is curious. in what way is her voice inflected, or what do her mannerisms show us that she is curious? "anger filled his mind" is a terrible way of showing us how angry he his. did his cheeks flush, his blood boil, did he clench his fists, or maybe he spoke in a low and threatening way? there are endless possibilities to show us what the characters are doing and feeling at the same time. connect action to emotion and then maybe we can enjoy the story. Ending my rant, all the best to Travis.
