Free book is a trap

A small portion of a larger story. You have to buy the next installments and it is not worth the money. The narrator has too young a voice for the sex kitten she is supposed to be. It is off putting. It is totally predictable too.

So many plot holes and the female actor’s breathy voice gets old very quickly. If it wasn’t so short I would have bailed. The male actor was the only thing that saved it.

I understand that books have to end even if I am attached to characters. This one ends so abruptly it is jarring. So much detail then it ends mid scene. Otherwise I really liked the book. The tension was palpable.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Gargoyle?
The scenes of "debriding" and the graphic description of burning. The rest of the book wasn't bad but it was hard to get through the first few chapters and the descriptions were repeated.

This was a selection from my book club. I will never read this author again.
