not as funny as I thought it would be
Revisado: 10-15-18
I believe I would have enjoy the printed copy of this book more. Novak did a good job but didn't really bring the characters to life. He sounded like himself. I really liked a few of the stories. The rest were just okay. overall it was an enjoyable book but not something I would probably back too.

Overall I enjoyed this series. This book does slightly get weird at the end. Yet overall it was really good. I am glad to have read the series.

Historia
Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.

Jesus a different tale
Revisado: 08-07-18
The story is about Jesus learning to be come the messiah through the eyes of his best friend. I though this book would take away Jesus integrity but it didn't really. He does get a little jealous but other than that he stays pretty clean. The mischief that Biff gets into will make you laugh and it is not clean. I would have enjoyed this more as a teenager yet still enjoyed it as a 30 something. It did not really have a slow spot. I really like Fisher Stevens and he did a great job reading.

The book was written as if you were reading several diaries, emails, and reports. This breaks up what little action and suspense the book brings. To make the the book feel really slow. The other annoying thing is the main characters have different voices depending on who's journal they are reading. A couple of the voices are really annoying. I thought this was a stand alone book but left the door open for other books. It does have a good premise and has some good parts.

Slightly different then the previous two
Revisado: 03-02-17
In the previous books it had kind of three separate tails with some overlap and this was really just one full story. It also did not have the same plotting and scheming that the other two had. It is still very good and I enjoyed it very much.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war - and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 01-11-17
I saw the TV show and liked it and decided to read the book. I would not suggest doing this. The book moves much slower and not much happens. The character Juliana in the book is slightly annoying. She does not have depth and seems slightly unbalanced. The story overall is good. Best if you are looking for drama with slight mystery.

Historia
The irreverent author of the cult classic Syrup hits his target in this satire on the wages of big capital. In Max Barry's hilarious vision of the near future, the world is run by giant American corporations, and employees take the last names of the companies they work for; The Police and The NRA are publicly traded security firms, and the U.S. government may only investigate crimes if they can bill a citizen directly.

3.5 stars for this book
Revisado: 01-03-17
After reading Lexicon and Syrup by this author, I was really excited to read this book. It did not live up to those high expectations. The book had some funny parts, enjoyed the story line and it kept a good pace. The problem I had was that it felt like it did not have much depth. The book moves quickly and it did not go into some of the details that I would have liked. The corporation aspect of the book got a little old by the end of the book. It was a fun concept at first but I felt like it was beaten to death by the end of the book. It took away from some of the other plot points that I liked better.
If you are looking for a non thinking fast paced book that has good amount of action and humor I would suggest this book.

How many levels are there
Revisado: 12-29-16
One of the things that I like about this series is that it deals more with the small moves that are made and not about huge magical battles. This one does have magical battles but it is not driving the plot. Overall it is packed with "others" trying to out think each other. Each story is compelling.

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

The ending surprised me which was a good thing. Sometimes endings feel forced and this felt more natural. The book had enough action to keep you guessing at what was going to happen through out the book..Overall really good.

Fast, Fun and Explosive.
Revisado: 09-16-16
This book has a decent premise and was decently done. The few complaints I have about the book is that the main character explained or talked about his condition a lot. Other than that it is fast paced and has good action scenes. It is not a must read in my opinion but if you need something fast and fun this is a good book to try.
