Although the French Exit is a somewhat morbid tale, I found myself laughing out loud with some of the passages and dialogue. Lorna Raver’s narration brings out the acerbic wit and melancholy of each character. I would recommend this as an audio book to fans of the written book. Definitely listen before the movie comes out.

This book made me laugh, cry and feel smarter. Lindy West's witty and uncompromising take on misogyny and fat shaming made me reflect on society's hang ups with women's bodies. From birth, the fascination with what is the correct size and weight begins and it is never fully resolved until you can accept yourself as West has done in her own life. Brava!
