Historia
John Hodgman - New York Times best-selling author, semifamous personality, deranged millionaire, increasingly elderly husband, father, and human of Earth - has written a memoir about his cursed travels through two wildernesses: from the woods of his home in Massachusetts, birthplace of rage, to his exile on the coast of Maine, so-called Vacationland, home to the most painful beaches on Earth.

Lived Up to Everything I expected
Revisado: 01-09-19
Smartly funny, thought provoking, and just the right amount of emotional evocation. This book speaks to the awkwardness, simple delights, confusion, and slow anger of the human experience.

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Yes, yes, yes... But...
Revisado: 02-28-15
Life-changing book. A must read. There is no doubt about that.
But... Rand really beats the point to death. The story could have been told in 900 pages. It feels as though she really pushed those extra 300 pages to accomplish a personal goal. This is probably why some recommend the abridged version.
Let me say: the narrator is really soaked into the plot. I would take the journey with him, just once... Don't take the shortcut.
