Giving me a headache

I am really trying to finish this book, but it's not looking good. The story is interesting enough; the speculative biology is quite impressive and well described.
Main gripes are with the narrator's just terrible American accent (otherwise she does a really good job,) and the rampant overuse of the term "plug ugly" to describe every character from a specific alternate world. I swear it's thrown out every other sentence in sections of this book.
I still have about 7 hrs left of listening, hope I make it...

Do not get this book unless you have a sense of humor! It's fun and imaginative, and makes you laugh.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

What killed this for me was the long drawn out email conversations that account for what seems like 50% of this book.
I suppose they wanted to give the characters depth through the "clever and witty" banter, but the constant time stamps and auto-signatures drove me insane!

What was most disappointing about E L James’s story?

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

Yes, she was a little squeaky but really not that bad.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Fifty Shades of Grey?

Cut out all the email headers.
