Highly underappreciated brilliance
Revisado: 02-06-21
there are so many amazing works in here, I cried many many times. So many people keep complaining about Song Of Ice And Fire, but never bother to read his other stuff. its absolutely stupid, these short stories shine just as brilliant, and in some places even more brilliant than his later works. and the notes from the author too made me feel so many things..

Historia
Marjorie Dawe is a librarian and takes her job - and indeed the truth of words - very seriously. She doesn't know it, but her world and ours - Roundworld - is in big trouble. On Discworld, a colossal row is brewing. The Wizards of the Unseen University feel responsible for Roundworld (as one would for a pet gerbil). After all, they brought it into existence by bungling an experiment in Quantum ThaumoDynamics.

not the same Terry?
Revisado: 07-18-19
while Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen's parts feel brilliant and objective as usual, Terry Pratchett's does not. I've read every discworld book in order of publication over the last 2 months and am confident when I say he feels like his personality is that of a very different person then he did before his Alzheimers, and has perhaps started to resent religion.. he always seemed so understanding before........ I loved the other science of Discworld books enormously, but this one feels strangely aggressive.. it hurts to read his parts because it doesn't even sound like him anymore......

Along the way, families will be united, financial opportunities will be created, and readers will be left with powerfully simple solutions to the everyday problems we all face.

Great Book!
Revisado: 11-05-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Noticer Returns to be better than the print version?
Yes, Andy brings the audio book to life.
What other book might you compare The Noticer Returns to and why?
The Noticer...for obvious reasons. The Bible...for me, because Jones is a lot like Jesus if he came back and interacted with people in trouble.
Which scene was your favorite?
The whole story moves to a great conclusion that if I shared would ruin some of the book but I love how it ends.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have but I like to listen in the car and sporadically throughout the day.
Any additional comments?
Andy is a great author and story teller. It is nice to be entertained and at the same time add value of sound principles to your life by reading his books.

The Wonderful Wisdom of OG!
Revisado: 02-22-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! Great story line and great content.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved how Og tied the storyline into the valuable concepts of the scrolls.
What three words best describe Og Mandino’s performance?
Hard to follow.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending.
Any additional comments?
Since I only had three words to describe Og's performance reading, I want to elaborate. He was kind of hard to follow and the vocabulary of the story didn't flow but it is WELL worth your time to overlook those small problems to gain the wisdom OG provides in this book!

An influential psychologist who is convinced that many important CEOs and politicians are, in fact, psychopaths teaches Ronson how to spot these high-flying individuals by looking out for little telltale verbal and nonverbal clues.

Interesting book but could have been better.
Revisado: 02-22-13
If you could sum up The Psychopath Test in three words, what would they be?
Good not great.
Have you listened to any of Jon Ronson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I liked Jon's audio performance. Very easy to listen too.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It is very eye opening when he gets to talking about psychopaths and Robert Hare's criteria.
Any additional comments?
I liked the book but it could have been much better. It kind of wandered for me. From the title of the book, I thought I would hear more about psychopathy. I like how Jon took you on the journey of his investigation. However I wished he focused more on psychopaths and not on all psycholigical disorders. It was a good read but really made me want to read more about Robert Hare's criteria and what his thoughts were.
