Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

poorly written characters and not enough story
Revisado: 06-13-23
the dialogue can only covey emotion by yelling the f word. the main character of written to show off their ability be kidding banal useless detail. I don't think the author really understands what proprioception is, or how aiming a weapon works. the side character make stupid choices so that the story take longer to unfold. But I do love how well Ray Porter worked with the material.

Historia
Do you make your own choices or have circumstances beyond your control already decided your destiny? For thousands of years, this question has intrigued and perplexed philosophers, scientists, and everyone who thinks deliberately about how they choose to live and act. For if free will makes us accountable for our choices, does the opposite hold true, that determinism absolves us of responsibility?

one of my favorite novels
Revisado: 04-16-22
it's one of my favorite novels. every once in a while I go back to it and find be thoughts to think about it. I'm a bit disappointed that they changed the title though. "blade runner" is never even mentioned in the book.
