The Mate Games are back, baby! And this time, the horsemen take the reins. Sin is the first audiobook in Meg Anne and K. Loraine’s Mate Games: Apocalypse series. This series, as I understand it, will be the last in the wildly popular Mate Games universe. Although I am beyond sad to see it end, I cannot wait to see how it all wraps up. The apocalypse that we’ve seen averted in previous Mate Games series has finally begun thanks to the horsewoman Death completing a ritual to release Lucifer. And now the world’s gone to hell in a handbasket, and the four horseman of the apocalypse find themselves in uncharted territory as they must now avert the apocalypse they’ve been created for by impregnating Lucifer’s vessel before he can conceive the antichrist that will cement the apocalypse. Sounds easy enough, right? After all, the vessel in question is a sexy, little succubus named Merri and one of the horseman, Sinclair (affectionately known as Sin) just happens to be an incubus. Oh, did I mention our little succubus is adamantly celibate? And the princes of hell are being released and attacking at every opportunity, trying to steal Merri away for Lucifer? So, there’s that. I LOVE this story so freaking much! The plot is beyond intriguing, the characters are all fascinating and multifaceted, and the witty banter is next-level incredible. And the biggest cherry on top of this delicious Mate Games sundae is the cameo appearances by some of our favorite characters from the previous series.

The full-cast duet-style narration is absolutely outstanding with some of the most popular and talented voice artists working in romance audio today. The main characters are voiced by Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, JF Harding, James Joseph, and Shane East, with cameo appearances by Teddy Hamilton and Christian Fox. It just does not get any better than that, folks! If you’re a fan of paranormal romance, this is definitely a cannot-live-without-it title!

The Secrets We Hide is the first audiobook in Berlin Wick’s Balance of Power series. This is my first book from Berlin Wick, but just based on this story, I certainly don’t think it will be the last. If you’re looking for a slightly-taboo MFM romantic suspense story with just as much love, romance, and heart as it has spice, then this is definitely the audiobook for you! And believe me, this story is chock full of ALL of those elements. The unconventional love story between Jake, Elena, and Christian not only hits every feel, it sets them aflame. The story is absolutely riveting with nuanced and compelling characters, surprisingly witty dialogue given the subject matter, no small amount of intrigue, and even an unexpected twist. Check those trigger warnings, though, because there are a few to take note of. I positively adored this audiobook! I loved the story! I loved the characters! And I truly loved the narration!

The amazing duet narration is provided by the wonderful voice talents of Branden Davis-Butler and Sean Masters. This was my first experience with Branden Davis-Butler as Elena, but her emotional portrayal really impressed me. She did a brilliant job of bringing through the myriad of emotions this complex character goes through in the story, and I felt every one of them in her performance. Sean Masters has quickly become one of my very favorite narrators, and his impassioned portrayal of both Jake and Christian was even more proof of just why that is. His performance was incredibly emotional, honest, heartfelt, nuanced, compelling, and effortlessly sexy. Together, these two talented voice artists bring Berlin Wick’s captivating story to life beautifully. This audiobook is one not to be missed!

Claiming Carter is the first audiobook in the new Waverly Wildcats series by Jennifer Bonds, and I must say, this series is off to a great start! When the football team loses its star kicker, their QB, Austin, thinks out of the box to recruit Kennedy Carter, a powerhouse of a female soccer player to take his place. Problem is she just happens to hold all football players in disdain, thanks in large part to a deadbeat dad who was a football player. These two can’t deny their off-the-charts chemistry, though. But when their teammates-with-benefits arrangement turns out not to be enough for either of them, they both struggle to accept it. This incredible love story with a backdrop of intense football play, witty team banter, and parental issues makes for a fascinating story. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!

The dual narration is provided by Amy Hall and Ash Beverly, who are both brilliant in these roles. They bring this fantastic story to life with real and nuanced portrayals of these wonderful characters. I loved every minute of their performances!

This audiobook had me hooked from the beginning and kept me absolutely captivated throughout! Katie Van Brunt was a new author to me, but I am definitely a fan now. This story had everything: romance, angst, serendipity, betrayal, hope, love, new beginnings, and ALL the spice! Cam and Joey’s road to love was certainly a bumpy one, but the scenery along the way was well worth the trip. All of the characters in this story—both main and side characters—were layered, compelling, and real. You can’t help but to be completely drawn into the story and their lives.

The fantastic duet narration for this audiobook is provided by Alexis Paige and JF Harding. They were the perfect choice for these characters, in my opinion. Their voices and performance styles worked so well together. Alexis Paige expertly delivered all of the pain, fear, hope, strength, and cautious optimism that embodied the character of Joey. And JF Harding was just perfection as Cam. He is one of my very favorite narrators, and this performance just proves why that is. His impassioned portrayal of Cam left me hanging on every word, feeling, and emotion of this character. Overall, this is definitely a love story and a listen not to be missed!

If you’re looking for a slow-burn, sweet and witty friends-to-lovers story with low spice and high angst, this is the story for you. Holly and Brandon are two people who’ve both been burned by love and have the scars to prove it. Both have had their self-esteem shattered, albeit in different ways. Despite an epic meet-cute, they wind up backing off and agreeing to be just friends. It’s eventually beyond obvious to literally everyone else in their lives that they are in love with each other, but those past scars run deep, and it takes most of the book for them to realize this for themselves. But even as they are seemingly just friends, little bits of actual romance sneak into their relationship, and it was really fun to watch the process. They truly were very sweet together. This was my first read from Kelsey Kingsley, and I have to say, this author does the whole rom-com thing very well. These characters were three-dimensional, real, and relatable. I kind of fell in love with them, even though I really wanted to wring their necks at various points or just shake them until they came to their senses. But that is all part of what makes these characters so relatable. And their happy ending is definitely worth all the angst.

The duet-style narration for this duel-POV story is provided by Marie Hawkins and Teddy Hamilton, and they were both incredible! Marie Hawkins was a new voice for me, but I was very impressed with her performance. The raw emotion, passion, and honesty she brought to her portrayal of Holly made listening to her a true joy. And of course, Teddy Hamilton can do no wrong in my eyes. He completely inhabits a character, and Brandon was certainly no exception. His impassioned and vulnerable performance was absolute perfection. Together, these two talented voice actors brought this wonderful story to life in the very best way. Kelsey Kingsley’s words and the superb narration by Marie Hawkins and Teddy Hamilton combined perfectly to do the rom-com audio genre proud!

Derek is the fourth audiobook in DJ Krimmer’s amazing Hel’s Ink series, and I honestly could not have loved it more! I’ve been anxiously waiting for Derek and Indy’s story, and it certainly did not disappoint. I love a seemingly cold and broody MC who you just know has so much more going on deep down. And Derek definitely had a lot going on, dealing with a past devastating betrayal and heartbreak, anger issues, anxiety, and even OCD. He’s determined not to let anyone get close to him, and he heavily relies on structure and routine to keep his life together. Enter Indy, who blows through his carefully constructed life like a hurricane of sunshine and chaos. She’s fiercely independent despite her battle with MS and hates nothing more than having to ask for help, even when she desperately needs it. These two need each other more than either of them care to admit. And when they’re thrown together, sparks definitely fly and their chemistry is way too hot to handle. They just need to overcome their own stubbornness, and watching them eventually give in is an absolute joy

The duet narration for this story is provided by Joe Arden and Mollie Stark, who both hit it out of the park with their performances! Joe Arden’s slow, southern drawl and raw emotion bring so much life to the character of Derek, and you can’t help but feel every emotion right down to your core. And Mollie Stark brings a beautiful honesty to the character of Indy, flawlessly portraying her vulnerability as well as her strength and capturing the absolute sunshine that is Indy. The outstanding narration and engaging storyline make this an absolute must listen!

This Reckless series… I swear it can’t get better, and yet it does. Every. Freaking. Time! Book four focuses on Jace and Elle, and I think they just might be my favorite couple yet (with Eastern and Sadie being a very close second). This couple basically grew up together as best friends, neither of them realizing they each wanted more but felt unworthy of the other. I mean, who doesn’t love a good friends-to-lovers story? And this one most definitely qualifies! After fifteen years away in the military, when Jace comes home for good, he’s finally ready to take a leap of faith with Elle, despite some deep-seated trauma that makes him feel as if he’s destined to lose everyone he cares about. But Elle is not making it easy as she has her own issues of abandonment and deeply-rooted low self esteem that make it hard for her to risk her heart with him. And on top of that, they may not have much time to get it right as there are outside threats to not only their happiness, but their very lives. This story is non-stop right from the beginning and really never slows down, in terms of physical action or emotional upheaval. I was immediately hooked and stayed that way to the very last page. These characters (both main and secondary from the previous books) are unbelievably compelling and nuanced, and you truly feel as if you know them. Nyssa Kathryn’s characters have a way of embedding themselves in your heart. I can’t wait for the next book, which will unfortunately be the last in the series. And this is one series I will definitely miss!

The duet-style narration for this title is provided by the fabulous duo of Avery Caris and Jason Clarke. Avery Caris brings a sensitivity and emotional depth to the character of Elle that is nothing short of captivating. And Jason Clarke’s famous baritone is perfect for Jace, delivering an impassioned performance that perfectly reflects this character’s strength as well as his conflicted emotions and vulnerability. The superb narration coupled with the riveting words of Nyssa Kathryn elevates this already incredible story to the level of truly outstanding.

Brandy Hynes must be a descendant of Machiavelli because this audiobook just gives you one twist, secret, and unexpected turn after another. And I loved every single one of them! This story was deliciously dark, dangerous, and sexy. The way all the various plot points were revealed was absolute genius, in my opinion. And the romance between Ivy and Wells was equal parts sweet and super spicy. Throw in the found family of Ty, Liam, and Gage with all their brotherly banter, and you’ve definitely got the complete package with this book. It will keep you on your toes, pull at your heart strings, and rev up your soul… along with other body parts. I was completely engrossed in this story from start to finish, and I can’t wait to listen to book two in the series.

The narration is provided by the extremely talented duo of Mollie Stark and Sean Masters. Mollie Stark was perfect as Ivy, doing a fantastic job of balancing the character’s sassy attitude and inner strength with her naivety and vulnerability. And Sean Masters shines as Wells, showcasing this character’s strength and dominant attitude as well as the softer side that’s only shown to Ivy. He also excels at voicing the other three men, giving each character a unique voice and personality that is immediately recognizable each time you hear them speak. Both narrators gave emotional, impassioned, and incredibly layered performances. If you’re a lover of dark romance audio, you should definitely add this one to your “can’t miss” list.

Atlas is the second audiobook in the phenomenal Hel’s Inc. series by DJ Krimmer, and this series just keeps getting better and better. DJ Krimmer is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I fell in love with Atlas in the first book and only fell harder after listening to this audiobook. On the outside, he is a cocky, fun-loving manwhore who takes nothing seriously. But there is so much more to this character, and all of that comes to light in this story. I was brought to tears more than once from Atlas’s backstory. Lauren, or Ren as Atlas calls her, is a beautiful, strong, curvy heroine, who is battling her own health and self-esteem issues. Both of these characters fell for each other long ago, but neither of them will admit it because neither of them believe they’re worthy of the other. After a fake marriage between the two to ensure Ren gets her diabetes medication, the relationship between them grows exponentially—first as friends and then as so much more, even though they fight it tooth and nail. Watching them lose that fight is as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming, and not to mention extremely entertaining. Every woman deserves a man to love and care for her the way Atlas does for Ren, and every man deserves a woman to care for and accept him the way Ren does for Atlas.

The narration for this book is provided by the incredible talents of Joe Arden and Angelina Rocca. No male voice actor can bring me to tears the way Joe Arden can, and he certainly proved that yet again in this audiobook. His portrayal of Atlas was creative and multifaceted, displaying all the emotional depth and passion this beautifully complex character deserves. And Angelina Rocca’s impassioned performance as Ren had me in all of my feelings, flawlessly portraying this character’s inner turmoil and vulnerability, as well as her untapped strength and general badassness. And together, their portrayal of this couple is absolutely white hot! They bring these characters to life in such a way as to make them and this audiobook completely unforgettable.

Reckless fall is the third audiobook in Nyssa Kathryn’s wonderful Reckless series. And let me say, it is good to be back in Misty Peak. This story centers around the romance between single dad Eastern, the town sheriff, and Sadie, his child’s former nanny who recently left her ex fiancé at the altar. This series has given us unforgettable characters and incredible plot lines so far, and this story is certainly no exception. In fact, as far as plot lines go, this book goes way above and beyond. Between crazed exes and a dangerous town mystery, there is more than enough intrigue to keep any listener well occupied and happy. And the budding love between Eastern and Sadie is equal parts sweet and spicy, the perfect combination, in my opinion.

The narration for this story is provided by Avery Caris and Jason Clarke, two of the Romancelandia’s biggest stars. Avery does a fantastic job voicing Sadie, passionately portraying this captivating character’s strength, sincerity, and emotion. She also delivers an absolutely spot-on performance as Eastern’s precocious eight year-old daughter. Jason Clarke, to absolutely no one’s surprise, is outstanding in the role of Eastern, flawlessly balancing the passionate man and father with the loyal and upstanding sheriff that make up the duality of this beloved character. Together, these two talented voice actors elevate this already amazing story to a whole new level of completely addictive romance. I cannot wait top for the next book in this fabulous series!
