Great premise! Narrators were awesome and I really enjoyed the banter and dialog between characters.

Historia
Eight months ago, I was a naive, small-town farm girl nursing a shattered heart. Then hotel billionaire Henry Wolf picked me up off the ground (literally), and my entire life changed. Now, I live in a luxurious Manhattan penthouse, and I'm starting my first company while planning a beautiful wedding to the man of my dreams. I knew these first months would bring plenty of drama. I expected the savage media attention surrounding our engagement, and I braced myself for Mama's theatrics about the wedding.

Sad this was the last one!
Revisado: 09-08-24
I really enjoyed the whole series. Unfortunately, this last one was not the best ending. I had to look several times to see if there was a new narrator, it was so odd. Same person, COMPLETELY different feel and tone to all the characters. Some others said it felt rushed and that is a great word for it. Both in the story itself and especially with the narration.

Historia
Disinformation is designed to evoke a strong emotional response to push us toward more extreme views, unable to find common ground with others. The false claims that led to the breathtaking attack on our Capitol in 2020 may have been only a dress rehearsal. Attack from Within shows us how to prevent it from happening again, thus preserving our country's hard-won democracy.

Informational
Revisado: 08-27-24
This book was very informational and helped me to put propaganda into perspective. I felt it was very left leaning, although a huge part of that could be Trump on the right and outrageous things he says with little to no correction.
For some reason it never occurred to me to ask someone stating something that seems ridiculous to site their source I feel more inclined to do so now. I’m a recent discussion with my Father in Law he stated that the left is trying to pass a bill to legalize pedophilia. That sounds beyond reasonable to me and I asked him where he heard that and the answer was online. Ok, but WHERE online. What is your source? A chat room? An article? Facebook? I googled that and found articles citing SB-145 in CA from 2020 from Reuters that clarified the ruling (it does not legalize pedophilia for those still reading this review).
I’m a little concerned I’m becoming my mother and spending inordinate amounts of time fact checking BS being delivered to my mailbox via political flyers that I KNOW are absolute garbage, but it helps me be more informed so I can engage in peaceful discussions in differing opinions.

Historia
Recruited into the fundamentalist Quiverfull movement as a young wife, Tia Levings learned that being a good Christian meant following a list of additional life principles—a series of secret, special rules to obey. Being a godly and submissive wife in Christian Patriarchy included strict discipline, isolation, and an alternative lifestyle that appeared wholesome to outsiders. Women were to be silent, “keepers of the home.” A Well-Trained Wife is an unforgettable memoir about a woman's race to save herself and her family and details the ways that extreme views can manifest in a marriage.

Religious Trauma
Revisado: 08-16-24
This book was so enlightening and horrifying. There was a line that stuck out to me, “both can be true”. I was raised in a very strict patriarchal, Christian household. So much of this, I could see parallels to in my own life.
I really appreciate it when the author reads their own book. That being said, Tia is not a professional narrator that did not take away from the book though.

Historia
In Cult Insanity, Spencer reveals the outrageous behavior of her brother-in-law Ervil---a self-proclaimed prophet who determined he was called to set the house of God in order---and how he terrorized their colony. Claiming to be God's avenger and to have a license to kill in the name of God, Ervil ordered the murders of friends and family members, eliminating all those who challenged his authority. Cult Insanity is a riveting, terrifying memoir of polygamist life under the tyranny of a madman.

The utter chaos
Revisado: 05-25-24
The story was decent, a little hard to follow in a couple spots. I had to rewind and make sure I knew who we were talking about.
The narrator pronounced Moroni, Deseret News and Zion incorrectly, there may have been some others but it distracted from the reading.

Historia
There are millions of stories in the city - some magical, some tragic, others terror-filled or triumphant. Jonah Kirk’s story is all of those things as he draws listeners into his life in the city as a young boy, introducing his indomitable grandfather, also a "piano man"; his single mother, a struggling singer; and the heroes, villains, and everyday saints and sinners who make up the fabric of the metropolis in which they live - and who will change the course of Jonah’s life forever. Welcome to The City, a place of evergreen dreams where enchantment and malice entwine.

Revisado: 08-21-23
I have always loved Dean Koontz. However, this time I feel like he missed the mark writing from the point of view as a person of color. The narrator did a wonderful job, but it didn’t feel like the story was genuine. I didn’t finish it.
