Historia
The inhabitants of a small town have long found that their lives intersect at one focal point: the local shopping mall. But business is down, stores are closing, and as the institution breathes its last gasp, the people inside it dream of something different, something more. A keenly perceptive and deeply humane portrait of a community in transition, ultimately illuminating the magical connections that can bloom from the ordinary wonder of our everyday lives, You Are Here brings this diverse group of characters vividly to life.

Narration was unbearable
Revisado: 06-05-23
The narrator sounded like a robot. Thought I was listening to Siri or Alexa reading the story.

Historia
One ordinary day, a caseworker from the Department of Children and Families knocked on the Hays family’s door to investigate an anonymous complaint about the upbringing of their transgender child. It was this knock, this threat, that began the family’s journey out of the Bible Belt but never far from the hate and fear resting at the nation’s core. Self-aware and intimate, A Girlhood asks us all to love better, not just for the sake of Hays’s child but for children everywhere enduring injustice and prejudice just as they begin to understand themselves.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. Your daughter is a lucky girl and she sounds pretty amazing herself.

Historia
The acclaimed writer A. M. Homes was given up for adoption before she was born. Her biological mother was a twenty-two-year-old single woman who was having an affair with a much older married man with a family of his own. The Mistress's Daughter is the ruthlessly honest account of what happened when, thirty years later, her birth parents came looking for her.

Vocal fry!
Revisado: 01-22-18
The story was very interesting but the vocal fry of the narrator was so aggravating to listen to. It’s bad enough to have to hear from so many adolescent girls these days, I can’t believe I paid money to listen to it! It was like fingernails on a chalkboard!
