Historia
In a culture increasingly indifferent or even hostile to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority. In Tactics, 10th Anniversary Edition, Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to artfully regain control of conversations, keeping them moving forward in constructive ways through thoughtful diplomacy. Step-by-step, you'll learn the tactics of good persuasion and defense, how to identify the tactics of your opponent, and how to build your case, patiently and practically.

Too Verbose Not Enough "Big Picture" Bible History
Revisado: 07-05-11
If you're looking for a concise history of how the bible as we know it came together, you'll be disappointed. In my opinion, the author is an intellectual who uses entirely too many words. After 2 hours, I finally gave up listening. Maybe I'm inpatient, but if an author can't grab my attention from the first or second chapter, I'm not sure I want to read his book. It's definitely not what I would classify as a "good book." I was really hoping to find a decent audio version about bible history, but I guess I'll have to resort to reading, perhaps the book, "The Story of the Bible" by Larry Stone.

Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old Devil to his nephew, Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man.

Too Verbose
Revisado: 04-13-11
I like CS Lewis, especially the modern movie renditions of his works. However, this book was just way too wordy for me, more like poetry. I think if you're an intellectual highbrow you might enjoy it, but I'm just way to concise to wade through the prose. If he had cut out about half the words it would have been a better read for me.

Ever wonder how Christian scholars knew which ancient books were to be regarded as Christian Scripture? Ever think about how the Bible came to be translated into English, and eventually the more familiar King James Bible? Ever wonder how we got our Bible? This collection of highly informative articles answers these and many other questions about how God worked through history to accomplish His will.

I Was Hoping For A Book
Revisado: 03-08-11
This is not a book, but a collection of what appears to be magazine articles on christian history. I was hoping for a book or at least a more chronological history of the bible explaining how the books of the bible came together to form the "canon" or inspired scripture. Instead, this audio book starts in the 1500's with the translation of the King James Bible and then reverts back to 100-200 AD in subsequent articles. It then jumps around a bit more from article to article, but not in a smooth chronological format. However, I did enjoy learning about John Wycliffe and William Tyndale and the amazing role they played in church history and the English bible translation. Their lives are fascinating and I would really like to read a biography on each them.

Christ-Centered Conflict Resolution
Revisado: 03-03-11
This is the most comprehensive material I've found on conflict resolution for the Christian. Abundant scripture references really show God's deep concern that we be reconciled and live in peace with others, including difficult people. This is a terrific reference manual for anyone facing conflict, especially in a troubled marriage. God spoke to me very clearly through this book. Maybe he will speak to you too!

I've Been Picking Unsafe People Unaware
Revisado: 02-19-11
I bought this audiobook on a hunch I might need to work on myself in this area. Wow! I didn't realize just how much I struggle with character discernment. Great book, very practical, logical and well written. Cloud and Townsend are excellent authors. There's so much good material here I may have to order the hard copy to study it again. I highly recommend this book.
