Historia
It is April 1943, and Marine aviator Cletus Frade, Army demolition's wizard Anthony Pelosi, and communications expert David Ettinger are thrust again into the lethal nest of intrigue that is wartime Buenos Aires. A clandestine German vessel sets sail to resupply submarines in the South Atlantic...as a massive shipment of money earmarked for postwar Reich makes its way to South America...and a coup designed to topple the government reaches critical mass. In the midst of it all, the German-ordered assassination of Cletus Frade's father demands only one response: revenge.

Absolutely Wrong Choice of Narrator
Revisado: 04-14-21
I’m gonna try to be as nice about this as possible. Great story and I would suggest actually reading the book if you can give listening to it till it’s re-recorded with a new narrator. I don’t know Michael Russotto and I’m sure he’s a decent hard working man but he wouldn’t have been my first choice for reading this novel. I was born and raised in Texas and people from Midland, TX do not sound like that. Clete Frade sounded like an effeminate 12 year old boy who was trying to talk with Texas accent. (That’s not a Texas accent either.) If you’re a narrator and can’t pull off an accent, any accent, you shouldn’t try. I know my opinion is biased here but it was distracting through the whole book.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Phenomenal Book!
Revisado: 05-25-19
Okay, I literally just finished listening to this book after I was working in my garage finishing some projects. I quit working on them about an hour and a half ago and couldn’t stop listening. It’s almost two in the morning.
I started this book earlier this week for my commute to and from work, with no idea of this story or what it was really about aside from the book cover and decided it sounded interesting. My God, this is honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read/listened to. A few times I sat in the truck this week after arriving home because the story is that damn good. I’m active duty military so I’ll admit a personal bias for a well told war story but if you are even a history buff in the smallest of ways, do yourself a favor and get this book. Read it, listen to it. (Great narration by the way too). You honest to God will not regret a single moment of time spent learning about this story. This is hands down the best book I’ve ever unexpectedly read and personally want to sincerely say thank you to Adam Makos for his time and talent for writing this absolutely incredible story. Thank you a million times over. I honestly feel sorry for people who consider purchasing this book to read or listen to and end up choosing something else. They have no idea what they’re missing. Thanks again Adam. Well done Sir! Well done.
P.S. - Tom Hanks, Stephen Spielberg, Ron Howard, Gary Sinese...... What the hell? Why isnt this a movie yet? Tom, you Stephen and Ron need to put Dan Brown on hold for a while and make this happen. I'll always be thankful for Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Saving Private Ryan, dont get me wrong, but this story deserves to be put on screen like only you guys can. As much as I like them, another Robert Langdon movie can wait. Please guys, make this happen.

In the beginning.... Three brothers - Gabriel, Michael, and Lucifer. Royalty. Archangels. United in devotion to their father and all his works. But when Lucifer learns of their father’s latest creation - a new race, fashioned from crude matter and yet made in his image - he is consumed with resentment. Why have he and his angelic kind been overlooked? After a bitter confrontation, Lucifer is cast out, doomed to an eternity of exile and punishment. Unrepentant, he vows he won’t suffer alone. Mankind has made a powerful enemy - one determined to lure it into darkness and torment....

Great book to begin series

Don't agree with certain aspects of the theology but this isn't historical theology. Its a great story based on theology though and worth taking the time to read/listen. Nathaniel Brady does a superb job at narrating.
