Gannon Brewer has to be the most elusive of the bunch. He spent his youth trying to emulate his father and now he's trying to pick up the pieces of the mess he left behind. Carys Johnson is completely off limits to him. She's more than 10 years younger and is his brother Tate's best friend. No matter how attracted he is to Carys, Gannon can't cross that line no matter how many innuendos she tosses his way. She approaches him about taking care of the plants in the Brewer Group office. She really needs this contract to stay afloat. Carys wears Gannon down eventually, which gives him the opportunity to run into her every so often and keep tabs on her.

Gannon met his match with Carys. She was feisty and determined but also sensitive and needed someone to believe in her and her abilities. Gannon was the perfect partner for her. They shared their deepest feelings and let their emotions free with each other. And Tate... OMG he was so Tate, his over the top self. So hilarious! I love these Brewers!

Oh, the audiobook! Angelina Rocca and Jack Callihan were amazing narrators! Ms. Rocca was the perfect Carys. Carys's personality and emotions shown through Ms. Rocca's voice. Mr. Callihan's voice was just as amazing for Gannon. His different vocal tones really brought out Gannon's character.

This review is not easy for me to write, but I will do my best to do this story justice. If your situationship did not end in HEA, maybe this book is not for you. If you like to escape reality and enjoy happy endings regardless of your real life situation, keep reading.

You see, Kat Ramsey was engaged. She was set to marry this guy only to find out he was married with children. What the heck?!?! Determined to get over him, Kat set out to do something out of the ordinary. If a committed relationship left her bereft, maybe a one night stand would be better. After that one night, she and Graham Stephenson exchange numbers and so ensues meet ups. It's all Graham wants any way after his divorce is finalized. They don't exchange any personal information, but after running into Graham in her area, she thinks maybe she should know a little more. But Graham is resistant.

Now, some parts of this story was painful for me, but this is not about me. If it weren't for narrators Kit Swann and Aaron Shedlock, I may not have had the wherewithal to finish listening. But, Kit and Aaron brought this special something to the story. They picked up on the emotions of the characters. The subtle nuances. The hidden feelings. The love between two people who were fractured, but not broken.

So, bring me a story written by AK and couple it with stellar narrators Kit and Aaron and I was able to escape my reality.

Cierra and Greyson first meet when Greyson comes to pick up nephew from school where she is the librarian. When Cierra finds out the man she helped put behind bars is being released from jail soon, she proactively seeks out a self-defense course. Greyson can't believe his luck! This is his chance to keep Cierra in his sights for the foreseeable future. He's just a little bit jealous of his coworkers with their significant others and settled lives. He wants what they have. He falls hard and fast for Cierra. His protective mode is on at all times. Sigh...

What makes this story and the entire series enjoyable is the choice of narrators. Mackenzie Cartwright and Troy Duran embody the characters so wholeheartedly. When Cierra is scared, I can feel it in Mackenzie's tone of voice. When Greyson is in protective mode, Sebastian's voice takes on this gruff, but authoritative tone.

Rowan Andrews gave up everything to care for her grandmother. Now that grandma has passed, she's picking up the pieces of her life. She has a one night stand on New Year's Eve. When Rowan reveals that their one night resulted in pregnancy, much to her surprise, Chance doesn't know what to do. He offers Rowan a place to stay and a family to support her. While combining their lives comes with growing pains, they eventually determine that life together is better than life apart.

Emma Wilder and Sebastian York as narrators was chef's kiss! Sebastian's voice was perfect for Chance's character. He gave that mature, distinguished nature to the character. Emma's voice embodied Rowan, giving joie de vivre to the character.

Gabriel Wilder and Briar Ashford have been circling each other for a while, finally giving in one night. Briar has tried countless forms of contacting Gabriel. She finally shows up at the Wilder Winery and Retreat to confront Gabriel. Samantha Cook and Aiden Snow were wonderfully cast as narrators. Their voices gave the story the breadth and depth it deserved. Every emotion could be felt.

Life has been throwing curve balls at Caleb Baumgarten left and right. He's in mandatory rehab for trashing a hotel room when he found out his mother passed. Then he finds out the mother of his child, Claudia, passed and her father is vying for legal and physical custody. There's no way that man will get anywhere near two-year-old Raine if he can help it. It takes a lot of negotiation with Aubrey Capshaw, Claudia's best friend, to agree to help him out as sobriety coach and Raine's nanny. The latter is a no-brainer for Aubrey. She's been in Raine's life. Caleb, also known as C-Bomb professionally as the drummer for Red Card Riot, needs to keep up with rehab, get to know his daughter, and fight for custody. While Aubrey was a calm and steady presence, she was also part atomic when it came to dealing with Caleb. There's a lot of grieving in this story, but there's also healing and loving and moving forward. Aubrey and her parents give Caleb and Raine the support they need, allowing father and daughter to bond and heal.

Andi Arndt and Sean Masters brought the characters and story to life. The duet narration really brought out the personalities and quirks of the characters and gave the story a multi-dimensional feel. Kudos to the stellar narrators!

Judd Sylver, CFO of Sylver Seed and Soil, and Genie Webster, owner of Quirky Girl Calendars, were always meant to be together except it was a right person, wrong time situation back when they were teens. They were supposed to go to prom together, but Judd never showed. They went their separate ways. When Genie shows up in Sterling Falls for a long awaited visit with her mother, the last person she wanted to see was Judd. She made an off-hand comment to him and was surprised when he showed up at her mother's house. The situation they were in was misconstrued and they end up fake fiance-ing it.

Cringe? Absolutely not at all. But, engaging in this fake fiance thing enables Judd and Genie to reconnect and finally spill all the hard truths... what life was really like in the respective families, why Judd never showed for prom, why Genie stayed away, why Judd hid his boxing. It explained why communication was difficult for them back then, having not had the experience or example of good relationships. This story was about finding love after all this time, but it was also about healing from childhood trauma and letting go of the anger and grief that took over.

This story was all the more enjoyable to read because Erin Mallon and Ryan West brought their "A" games to the narration. They did a fantastic job of bringing the characters and their love story to life.

I am so excited to dive into the Cage Family world! If you have not read the prequel, "Before I Knew," have no fear since it is included. The family dynamics and the drama that ensued following the death of the Cage patriarch is sure to intrigue, but let's start with Aston Cage and Blakely Graves. They met via text message before the drama started, before the Cage brothers' world changed forever. She was mistakenly added to the Cage Family group chat (just how many did they need?!?!). They met in person, both wanting to see where things could go. Just when their story was starting, Aston's lifeas he knew it imploded. And that is also when Blakely's life changed as well. Having lost her job over her boss seeing her dance with Aston, she's relieved when James Cage hires her to work for them. She's bound to run into Aston. They have their share of ups and downs, misgivings, and sincere moments. The spice is spicing. The push and pull of the Cage family drama had the potential to break what they had going, but the chemistry and atrraction, the partnership and support between Blakely and Aston was what kept them going to their HEA. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke brought all their talent into voicing these characters. They kept me listening from start to finish in a day and left me wanting more. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series!

Being alone and being lonely are two different things. Ivy has watched her brothers find everlasting love. To stave off the loneliness, Ivy tries out new things and when something happens to her one night, Marco is the one who helps her. Marco's her brother Cooper's best friend so he's always been off limits. But there's so much chemistry and attraction between them. Being around Marco keeps those feelings of loneliness away. They get along well, they share their deepest secrets, they keep it real while keeping their relationship a secret. When Cooper finds out, it becomes a true test of putting your money where your mouth is. This is when we find out if Marco was being true to Ivy or just finessing her with words. Kit Swann and CJ Mission did an amazing job narrating this story. Ivy and Marco came to life. I heard the emotions and the nuances in the narrators' voices that made the story that much more enjoyable.

How have I not read/listened to a book by this author?!?! That changes now. The Way We Score is a second chance, sports, accidental pregnancy, found family romance. I love a good second chance romance. Liv and Garrett have loved each other since high school, but life got in the way. Now she's signed papers to divorce her philandering husband and ends up in her hometown to help her mother. She runs into Garrett at a mutual friend's wedding. One thing led to another and a few weeks later, two pink lines change everything. Here she thought she couldn't get pregnant and one night with Garrett changes all that. Garrett is ecstatic! This is his chance to make Liv his again. What follows is the relatable and realistic journey to changing course, melding lives, and getting ready for a baby while figuring out their relationship. Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller were amazing narrators. Their talented voices gave the characters and their story life. I felt like I was watching a movie.
