Historia
Once every 10 years, mech pilots gather together with their armored UHAAVs in an invitation-only contest known as the Steel Apocalypse to find out who’s the best in the galaxy. The winner earns fame, honor and enough wealth to keep them in the lap of luxury for the rest of their life. When a down-on-his-luck 22-year-old mech pilot known as Jake Striker is given the opportunity to participate in the tournament, he jumps at the chance. Loading up his obsolete, 55-year-old, five-meter-high, Paladin model mech onto a star freighter, he heads to the neutral zone to make his fortune.

Guy Williams was awesome
Revisado: 01-14-20
I took a chance on this book because of the narrator Guy Williams and was richly rewarded with a great book. The book got right into the story and didnt necessarily bogged down with technical blue prints of the mechs which was kinda refreshing. You really get invested into the characters and I hope to listen to the next book with guy William's as the narrator. Take the chance I say it's worth it

very good prequel
Revisado: 02-26-18
I love the stigers books but a prequel I was a little worried about but this book fits in very nicely to the series. of course it follows the beginning of Ben's career and I like that fact it shows a bigger world. I can wait for the next one.

the performance wasn't good
Revisado: 03-25-17
I love Dune. the book is awesome and is a classic. with that said this performance of Dune is really disappointing. there was no consistency with the characters voice. for example the baron had 3 different voices in one scene. it seemed like they cobbled it together from other audio reading. if you can find the Scott Brick only performance get that one

great if you like politics bad for survial book
Revisado: 03-05-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
the author spends way to much time explaining the world in the beginning of the book. I don't mind alittle set up but come on 4 and a half hours before we get to the meat of the story about the charater
Would you recommend The Last Centurion to your friends? Why or why not?
don't know, I would because he got the military mind set for the character very good and besides the first 4 hours of political and to much explanation, the book was great.
Which scene was your favorite?
when he has his swagger stick
Do you think The Last Centurion needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
nope
Any additional comments?
if your looking for a survivalist book or end of the world type of book look somewhere else. if your looking for a good book that shows a solider mind set and shows what he does so his unit can go home with good action then here it is. but again skip the first four hours if you can unless you like political rants
