Long…but good

I debated with myself about finishing this audiobook during the first 90 minutes. It took me a while to get involved with the storyline. The narrator is outstanding, which kept me coming back. The author was very descriptive and created amazing scenes. In the end, I was glad I listened to the whole book.

On the edge of my seat!!!

I am a fan of Louise Penny and enjoy the Three Pines Books. This may be the best one yet! There are several twists and turns in the story and I was up late reading when I should have been asleep. I enjoyed the insight into some of the characters who have been In the background in the past. It was also interesting to have the story set in Paris. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent!

I’ve read and/or listened to other books by William Kent Krueger, but this is my first in the Cork O’Conner series. I’m glad I found it. The story is excellent and kept me listening when I should have been doing other things. Krueger’s descriptive writing style is so good I could see the snow and feel the cold. On to the next in the series!!!

Fast-paced, great story!

I like the pace of this book! The story didn’t go on and on without getting anywhere. I enjoyed the character development and the back story. I’ll be listening to more books by Kendra Elliot.

I liked the historical descriptions in the book. I grew up in the 1960s, but the book was long and sad. I would not recommend it.

Outstanding!

Great book. I have been waiting patiently for it to be published. The story within the story kept me guessing until the end. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter seemed unnecessary to me and were a bit distracting, but it’s still an excellent book.

Big Baldacci fan, but...

I am a big fan of David Baldacci overall and like the Will Robie/Jessica Reel story line. I ordered this audio book as soon as it was available. I was so disappointed! The book seemed to drag on and on and was choppy. I also got tired of Jessica. When did she become a whiner? There were too many characters and some of them did not benefit the story. I listened to all of it, waiting for it to improve and it didn't happen.

Wanted to love it...

The story was okay. Had it not been for the reader, I doubt I would have finished it. The older sister was annoying and I didn't have any sympathy for her. Not awful, but not great.
