This ties into many of his other works, but does a wonderful job giving a brief overview of his case against a universal deity, and what would have to exist to change his mind. His work is well researched and narrated, and I hope he continues releasing audible versions of his other work, such as Jesus in Outer Space!

The book itself is a study on the STUDY of mass extinctions over time and how scientists in the field have investigated them. For that, it’s well done and informative.

Information on the Permian Extinction itself, however, as the title would denote, is rather sparse and uneventful. The focus on this book is how extinctions are studied, not specific events, and lacks details related to those events themselves.

This is a well constructed and well thought out argument, and it’s narrated really well. I found it both engaging and interesting to see a purely scientific view of god and what that would entail, and the logical fallacies that can surround such an existence or lack thereof.

Great male narration, mediocre female narration, great story

The male narrator was amazing, but the female narrator didn’t work for me. It took me a bit out of the story whenever she started reading, and I kept feeling like it would have been told better if the male had read both.

I liked the characters, and the unique situation they were in, and there was a lot to buckle in for—in a good way. For me, I would reread the book, but I wouldn’t relisten to the audio version. It just didn’t work enough for me, and I don’t want to ruin a good story because of the narration.

I received a copy for my honest review.

I appreciated her insights on this, especially since we do not align politically, and the way she clearly outlined how this all happened and what she felt was the right path forward. You have to admire her ethics and morality, and her decision to take a stand when most of her own party refused to. Overall, a great book, and I liked the inclusion of real recordings, but I do wish it had focused a bit more on the evidence rather than the path to the committee and why they all participated.

This book provides a broad perspective into the types of parents who fall into this area, but does not provide significant study, evidence, or detail. The case studies mentioned are very superficial and always designed to make a point, rather than really delve into the issues of what this looks like and, as adults, how those children should comport themselves with their parents and in their own relationships. It’s a good introduction, but if you want something substantial, you’ll want to follow up with other books.

Molly’s and Liz’s story in full

Molly’s story is compelling at the end. Liz’s is one you can tell she is still trying to come to grips with what happened and I would say it’s a journey that’s not as complete. She saw Ted markedly different than everyone else and, arguably, it’s a compellingly different narrative from the one we’ve seen before. Ted was complex, as, we learn, was their relationship with him. I wish we’d heard more from Molly than just the afterword and I do wish this whole story had been narrated by the two women rather than an impartial one.

I loved the mythos here, brought to life in the tale of Ares and Harm, both fighters. Honestly the idea of two warriors (aka martial artists) coming together and finding love is sexy as hell. They challenged each other in a very fun and believable (and hot!) way. I also love the notion of Greek gods finding love and fulfillment in this new modern age as much as I love the modern women they fall for.

I preferred the narration in Apollo’s book over Ares’. I liked the narration here but it felt a bit calmer, more levels, and for a book on MMA fighters with anger issues, I would have preferred more passion in the narration. That said, I still enjoyed hearing the book and look forward to more in the series!

I loved the mythos here, brought to life in the tale of Apollo, the rock star, and Laurel, the ballet dancer. Both have a lot to overcome and learn as they fall in love and there’s an enchanting buildup as they come together. I love the notion of Greek gods finding love and fulfillment in this new modern age as much as I love the modern women they fall for.

The narration was wonderful. Very engaging and it drew me in. I found myself listening to the book in one go instead of in bits as I drive to and from work. Definitely recommend!

This is the story of Karmel and Peridot, both of whom have been scarred by their pasts and in need of some holiday love.

They say authors read their own story best and I think that applies here. It was a lot of fun to listen to and I found it a really engaging listen. This is a fun Christmas story and I enjoyed hearing about these two finding their own holiday magic together. Honestly it was cute to hear the dragons all get into the holiday spirit and it would be fun to see how their second would go, too!
