Historia
Ever since he became a Christian at the age of 40, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor. This New Testament edition is excerpted from that Bible.

Nice recording, but needs much better navigation

Is there a navigable index?
Revisado: 03-16-18
I had hoped to begin by listening to Paul's Epistle to the Galatians, which we are currently studying in small group, but I couldn't find an index. If there is a direct way to each book of the New Testament, I would love to revise my rating to 5 stars. The text and the narrator both deserve it!

Historia
Before you could tuck it under your arm, before you could bring it up on your phone–you did not read Scripture, you listened to it. For centuries, the only way to access God’s Word was to hear it read aloud in public gatherings. Today, we blessed to own personal printed copies of the Bible, but there is a surprising benefit to hearing the Scriptures read aloud as it was for so many generations.

Narration 3; Text 5.
Revisado: 03-16-18
I held on through Galations and Ephesians at which point I had heard enough of Mr. McLean's voice. I found it grating -- which doesn't mean anyone else will feel the same way. But for me, Paul sounded "cranky" as read by Mr. McLean. Doubtless he had reason to be at times. Just not throughout every epistle.

I'm so pleased there's an Audible!
Revisado: 11-06-17
I tried reading The Curious Incident last year but stopped before I reached the end of chapter one. This happens frequently because I'm very slow reader, not because I lost interest. Listening to The Curious Incident was marvelous!
I wanted everything to end well for Christopher but I was constantly concerned that it wouldn't. Nothing was simple for him, for his mom and dad, or for pretty much anyone else. Somewhere in the story, I realized that I had been doing 'thumbs up' or murmuring 'Yes!'*any time things worked out for him. (As gritty as the story is, I wasn't sure about that happening.)
* I did the same with 'Ready, Player One'.
I see that the author has written several other books! Yes!

Historia
Set in the pre-Christian world of Glome on the outskirts of Greek civilization, it is a tale of two princesses: the beautiful Psyche, who is loved by the god of love himself, and Orual, Psyche's unattractive and embittered older sister, who loves Psyche with a destructive possessiveness. Her frustration and jealousy over Psyche's fate sets Orual on the troubled path of self-discovery. Lewis's last work of fiction, this is often considered his best by critics.

Far better than I ever guessed
Revisado: 08-28-17
I bought Til We Have Faces a couple of years after I first 'discovered' it's author but never managed to read past the first chapter. What a joy it has been to hear the story read by Nadia May! She has a particular talent for speaking in a different way for each of Lewis' characters-- a huge help when listening to a book rather than reading it! So now I must wait a little before hearing the tale told again. I will try to be patient.
