Historia
A dying man is murdered. A rich man's wife agrees to pay $3,000 for the return of a stolen box of rocks. A series of odd, inexplicable events is haunting Sergeant Jim Chee of the Navajo Tribal Police and drawing him alone into the Bad Country of the merciless Southwest, where nothing good can survive...including Chee. Because an assassin waits for him there, protecting a 30-year-old vision that greed has sired and blood has nourished. And only one man will walk away.

I’m really enjoying the nice pace of these stories, the character development and how the author can vividly describe the scenery. I’m also enjoying learning about the Navajo culture.

Historia
The London Silver Vaults—for well over a century, the largest collection of silver for sale in the world. It has more locks than the Bank of England and more cameras than a paparazzi convention. Not somewhere you can murder someone and vanish without a trace—only that’s what happened. The disappearing act, the reports of a blinding flash of light, and memory loss amongst the witnesses all make this a case for Detective Constable Peter Grant and the Special Assessment Unit.

Another fantastic story
Revisado: 04-30-25
This whole series is so funny and interesting in how Peter relates to the reader different things throughout each story. I also enjoy how magic is part of everyday life, but not in a general public sense, but on underlying part of life that if you were to stop and take a hard look around you, you might just notice something that’s more than just “weird bollocks”!

Good story
Revisado: 04-29-25
I’ve always found Anne Perry’s novels very interesting and intriguing, this is one is no different. The fact that it based at such a pivotal moment in history makes the story even more compelling. She captures the essence of how different England, and the world, was and hints about the coming devastation that will change everything. Looking forward to reading more of this series to see how she develops her characters.

Carlos Santana’s Light, Spirit, and Soul is a rhythmic journey into the places, spaces, artists, and music that have inspired and informed one of popular music’s most successful artists by any measurable standard. He’s not an entertainer. He’s a communicator of a language that speaks directly to the molecules of listeners across space and time. These are his Words + Music.

In the summer of 1846, the Army of the West marched through Santa Fe, en route to invade and occupy the Western territories claimed by Mexico. Fueled by the new ideology of “Manifest Destiny,” this land grab would lead to a decades-long battle between the United States and the Navajos, the fiercely resistant rulers of a huge swath of mountainous desert wilderness.

Interesting
Revisado: 02-08-25
Very interesting stories about many of the Southwest Indigenous peoples, but mainly focused on the Diné. Since I’ve grown up in Tucson Arizona I’ve been educating myself about the history of indigenous peoples that lived here first and this book is another one that adds to it. Kit Carson is the person that the author uses, with good reason, as the means to weave the history of tribes in this area. He was a person who lived nearby the many tribes and fought against and eventually for them.

Excellent story!
Revisado: 01-25-25
At first I thought I accidentally downloaded the German version of this story!! I really enjoyed this story for a number of reasons, firstly the story is very interesting, another shade of the River series. Secondly, the location of where the story took place has personal significance for me because at the turn of the century I was stationed at Spangdalem AB which is located about 30 minutes from Trier! So it was very interesting listening to a story that took place in a location that I’m familiar with!
