Historia
When the mother that abandoned them years ago suddenly shows up and moves them to New Hampshire, Madison has no choice but to go or lose her family. Shoving her dreams aside yet again, she tries to make a life for her siblings only to discover that nothing is going the way that it should. It's really cold. Her fifteen year old sister acts like a hooker in training. Men act funny around her. Her boss is a real jerk. She feels like an outsider.

Not So Typical Vampire Meets His Mate
Revisado: 01-23-21
The story is a bit confusing, but soon everything is clear and good a paranormal story emerges. If you are expecting a "run of the mill" adult vampire story, you would be almost correct. There are couple of twists that add to the story and make it more interesting, It's part of the Audible Plus offerings, so go ahead and take the chance.
Here's my rating system:
"Whoa is me" factor: Medium-Low
Target Audience: 18 and above paranormal book lovers
Skipped Chapter: None
Listening Rate: 2x (my standard)
Would I purchase this book? Yes
Will I read/purchase the next book? Yes, yes, yes.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Eden Matthews has been in and out of private schools for the last two years. She can't seem to stop herself from closing them down. Kingsley is her last chance to finish high school. Only Kingsley isn't like the other schools she's been to. The students are different. But, then again, so is she. After meeting Kiran Kendrick, the mysterious boy who seems to be the source of all her problems, she is suddenly in a world that feels more make-believe than reality.

Clueless Teenage Girl Finds Out She's Not Human
Revisado: 01-23-21
This is probably a great book for the YA audience, as an adult I found the story and performance to be over dramatic. If you can get through the first half of the book (I suggest listening at the highest rate that you can and skipping chapters that are filled with over dramatized teenage angst), the second half of the book does gets better and sets up for multiple new books and spinoff stories. Maybe the next book will continue with the story and remove the "whoa is me" factor. One can only hope.
Here is my own personal rating scale:
"Whoa is Me" factor: Very High
Target Audience: 12-17 year old girls
Skipped Chapters: 6 of 47
Listening Rate: 2x
Would I pay for this book? No
Will I listen to the next book? Yes, at some point, only because it's free

Gather round close, for I have a secret to tell. Late at night, while everyone is sleeping, dreaming of white knights and fairytales. I'm making friends with the monsters. They call to me, like finds like, right? My biggest secret, I'm the scariest monster I know. I think I'm the bad guy.

Unexpected Surprise
Revisado: 01-23-21
Wasn't sure what to expect out of this, but once it started it was very hard to put down. The characters are interesting and well developed, The performance was great and the story was good, a bit predictible, but the characters and their interactions turn the story into a "stay up a little too late to finish" story. Looking forward to listening to the next book as there is quite a bit of the story that seemed to be incomplete.
