As humans we carry a lot of evolutionary baggage, and the markets are designed to take advantage of this fact.
When trading with real money our primal fears tend to take over.
Troy explains the very real work required to become a successful trader. It's not so much about understanding indicators and charts and currency pairs... It is about creating and trusting a system that you run in the markets. The system defines the trade entry, targets and stops so you just need to trust and run the system. 95% of trading should be you automatically following your plan. The rest is the finer art of seeing the price action play out and making tiny adjustments accordingly.
The beginning of the book focuses on markets and FOREX specifically, but the rest of the book is appropriate and should be valuable for any developing trader of any market.
The writing and narration help make this book engaging as Troy tosses in his personal experiences, so it doesn't feel completely text bookish but as you can imagine, it is no nailbiter either (thus the 3 stars for story).

Troy doesn’t promise you 5 minute profits. If you want real results he says you need to do the real work required to become a trader.
This book is not for people who want to day trade. It’s for people who are willing to transform themselves into day traders. The premise is that day traders are by training successful at day trading. Regular people like me and probably you will not be profitable at day trading because we are still too evolutionary handicapped. Traders take money from non traders. It’s that simple!
Transforming yourself IS HARD. Troy lays out how (and why) while giving you a crash course in the markets.
A fantastic place for a beginner to start and for an experienced but unprofitable person who has been trading to get serious.
I fall in the latter category. I’ve read all the books. I’ve purchased all the indicators. I’ve cycled through all the trading rooms.
I purchased everything I need to succeed but I cannot pay anyone to do this work for me. I must do this myself.
Doing the work literally forces you to believe in your edge so you’ll trust it, follow it and let it FINALLY work for you.
Other authors touch on this requirement but Troy gives you the steps, drills and blueprints needed to stop following the gurus and become your own guru (CEO).
As day traders you design, create and run your trading business. You also work for the business methodically and accurately carrying out the (proven trading) plan.
No free lunches here. If you’re ready to do the work required to become a day trader then read the book. If not, then read the book just before you give it up all together with your final, frustrated, Hail Mary capitulation trade that is sure to empty your trading account.
