Historia
Al MacBharrais has a most unusual job: He’s a practitioner of ink-and-sigil magic, tasked with keeping order among the gods and monsters that dwell hidden in the human world. But there’s one supernatural mystery he’s never been able to solve: years ago, someone cast twin curses on him that killed off his apprentices and drove away loved ones who heard him speak, leaving him bereft and isolated. But he’s not quite alone: As Al works to solve this mystery, his friends draw him into their own eccentric dramas.

Revisado: 04-28-25
the story feels a bit rushed at some parts, but overall the story is still really great. The narrator does a fantastic job, and the outtakes at the end are well worth the listen

Historia
In 1959, the year Terry Galloway turned nine, the voices of everyone she loved began to disappear. No one yet knew that an experimental antibiotic given to her mother had wreaked havoc on her fetal nervous system, eventually causing her to go deaf. As a self-proclaimed "child freak," she acted out her fury with her boxy hearing aids and Coke-bottle glasses by faking her own drowning at a camp for crippled children

intriguing but a bit disjointed.
Revisado: 03-25-21
the writing style keeps you entertained, however the timeline is a bit muddled. I also don't think I much like Terry after reading this book. But I certainly respect their talent.

Aidan desires only one thing: to rule. Arrogant, headstrong and driven by the element of Fire, he will stop at nothing to bring the evil Howls that destroyed Scotland to their knees. Historia
Sam of Wilds faced the Dark wizard Myrin and lived to tell the tale. Granted, the battle left him scarred, but things could be a hell of a lot worse. It’s not until he reunites with Morgan of Shadows and Randall that he realizes just how much worse things could be. Because the scars have meaning and hint at Myrin’s true plans for Sam and the Kingdom of Verania. With time running out, Sam and his band of merry misfits must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin.

hard to finish
Revisado: 06-12-20
the overall storyline is intriguing but the plot moves so slowly while repeating the s as me trope over and over again making little to no character development. when paired with a narrator who has maybe 3 or 4 voices he uses for all the characters this book is just painful to listen to, maybe it would be a decent read, but it's awful to listen to

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Great story, awkward performance
Revisado: 06-24-19
the story is fantastic, and while having a male and a female performer for the audiobook is a novel idea, the female performer has a very sing song voice in the beginning that tends to grate on one's nerves, also the two failed to agree upon pronunciations of characters' names which is also quite annoying
