Historia
But now Lillian herself is dead. Found among the bleeding hearts and lilacs of Clara Morrow's garden in Three Pines, shattering the celebrations of Clara's solo show at the famed Musée in Montreal. Chief Inspector Gamache, the head of homicide at the Sûreté du Québec, is called to the tiny Quebec village and there he finds the art world gathered, and with it a world of shading and nuance, a world of shadow and light. Where nothing is as it seems. Behind every smile there lurks a sneer. Inside every sweet relationship there hides a broken heart.

I must remember
Revisado: 11-21-15
I must remember that I do not like Ms. Penny's writing. This is the third Louise Penny book I've listened to and I seem to forget between that I don't like her style. The reviews are so good that I am swayed by them and ultimately disappointed in the book. Probably they are too emotional for my taste.

Historia
Ruby Lennox was conceived grudgingly by Bunty and born while her father, George, was in the Dog and Hare in Doncaster. Bunty had never wanted to marry George, but he was all that was left. She really wanted to be Vivien Leigh, swept off to America by a romantic hero. But here she was, stuck in a flat above the pet shop beneath York Minster, with sensible Patricia, aged five, greedy Gillian who refused to be ignored, and Ruby, who tells the memorable, witty, and eventful story of The Family.

Stick with it
Revisado: 02-20-15
The book is slow to start. I did naturally become interested in the story until probably halfway through. But it is well written and the narration is excellent

Historia
Working on the case, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is reminded of the primal police rule he learned long ago: Don't look for the facts, but the glue that holds them together. Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border.

Dick Hill is an incredible narrator
Revisado: 10-15-14
Dick Hill's interpretation of the characters in "Black Ice" truly enriches the story. The story is quite good on it's own but the narration takes it to a much higher level. Also, the pacing is great. So, very, very good direction, too. I will definitely look for more audio books narrated by Mr. Hill.

Historia
After his experiences as a young naval officer in battles off Okinawa, Philip Bowman returns to America and finds a position as a book editor. It is a time when publishing is still largely a private affair - a scattered family of small houses here and in Europe - a time of gatherings in fabled apartments and conversations that continue long into the night. In this world of dinners, deals, and literary careers, Bowman finds he fits in perfectly. But despite his success, love eludes him.

Revisado: 09-03-13
I am sorry to give this book so few stars. It may be a great book. I don't know. I've given it an hour and I am bored. I just don't want to stick with it.

Historia
In his wickedly brilliant first novel, Debut Dagger Award winner Alan Bradley introduces one of the most singular and engaging heroines in recent fiction: Eleven-year-old Flavia de Luce, an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison. It is the summer of 1950 - and a series of inexplicable events has struck Buckshaw, the decaying English mansion that Flavia’s family calls home. A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches him as he takes his dying breath.

Entwistle's performance brilliant
Revisado: 01-30-12
What does Jayne Entwistle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Jayne Entwistle's portrayal of the main character was spot on. Her voice really took on the character of the 12 year old girl. Just brilliant!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Who was your favorite character and why?
It is difficult to choose just one character of this series as a favorite. I like Arya's youthful courage, Bran's developing awareness of his abilities, and Jon Snow's heroism. Oh, Daenerys is a great, strong, female courage. Oh, and Tyrion!!! Great combination of morality and pragmatism. So, there you go, can't just choose one.
Which character – as performed by Roy Dotrice – was your favorite?
Hmmm.... All Mr. Dotrice's male characterizations are fabulous. I am going to say Tyrion is my favorite followed by Jon Snow and Varys.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
You may want to listen to this all in one sitting but it would be difficult and I would recommend against it.
Any additional comments?
I wonder if the children will ever achieve adulthood in this series.
