Historia
Melville Heights is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Bristol, England. It’s the sort of place where doctors and lawyers and old-money academics live. It’s not the sort of place where people get stabbed in the back 30 times with a kitchen knife in their own homes. Someone must have seen something. Newlywed Joey Mullen, for example, recently returned from four years of working in Ibiza. She and her husband, Alfie, are eager to find a place of their own in her hometown. But Joey finds herself distracted by the man next door, Tom Fitzwilliam.

Not my favorite
Revisado: 09-21-22
This was my least favorite Lisa Jewell book to date. I think that the narration was part of the experience- in points where multiple people were speaking, it was very difficult to discern who was saying what. It was good overall.

Second time- awesome novel
Revisado: 06-21-22
I just listened to this title for the second time (first a few years ago). It is a fantastic story. The narration is spot on and the character development is wonderful. Love everything I have read by Marrs!

Historia
Bestselling mystery writer Lucy Harper's talent for invention has given her fame, fortune, and an army of adoring readers. It has also saddled her with dependents, namely her fawning husband Dan. When Dan suddenly goes missing, his disappearance evokes dark memories that take Lucy back more than thirty years—to the day her brother vanished without a trace. That's when Lucy began conjuring stories. The police investigation revealed few confirmed details, so she created tales to fill in the gaps, to explain what happened that day her brother disappeared—and Lucy was the only witness.

eye opening perspective
Revisado: 01-18-20
I struggled with the idea of this book, but loved it. it tore at my mommy- heart and made me see things from a different perspective. I feel like I came out with a better understanding of gender identity and how it differs from sexuality.

very good, though not gripping

I enjoyed this book, but it did not have the 5-star 'cant wait to pick it back up again' hold on me. it was worth a read and had some interesting twists that made it exciting.

Historia
For 170 years, Edward Fairfax Rochester has stood as one of literature's most complex and captivating romantic heroes. Sometimes cruel, sometimes tender, Jane Eyre's mercurial master at Thornfield Hall has mesmerized, beguiled, and, yes, baffled fans of Charlotte Brontë's masterpiece for generations. But his own story has never been told.

Love hearing a different perspective
Revisado: 07-24-18
With so many Pride and Prejudice variations out there, it is great to have a little variety! I loved getting Rochester's perspective, though I must admit that I had a hard time hearing his voice at times. I missed his double meanings and sarcasm. the whole backstory was so beautifully woven. my biggest lament in the tale was Rochester's nephew, as I think that he took some of the gravity of Rochester's decision to propose away, giving him a moral out.
overall, I recommend this book, and would purchase another written by this author.

good listen

This was a decent read, not bad, not fabulous. The ending felt rushed and did not pack the punch that I was wanting. I won't listen again, but do not regret the credit.
