Historia
In the fair autumn of Our Lord's grace 1431, the nuns of England's St. Frideswide's prepare for the simply ceremonies in which the saintly novice Thomasine will take her holy vows. But their quiet lives of beauty and prayer are thrown into chaos by the merciless arrival of Lady Ermentrude Fenner and her retinue of lusty men, sinful women, and baying hounds. The hard-drinking dowager even keeps a pet monkey for her amusement. She demands wine, a feast.... And her niece, the angelic Thomasine.

Very enjoyable read!
Revisado: 10-18-20
My mother, who has great taste in medieval mysteries, has been encouraging me to read this series and I’m so glad it’s on audible!
The pace of this book is wonderful if, like me, you craft and listen at the same time. I only think I had to rewind because I missed something while crafting, which is a rarity.
The story is wonderful- love, intrigue and lessons learned about impatience etc without being preachy or too religious. It’s a beautiful mix. I can’t wait for the next book and I hope audible continues the series!

Historia
We all know that without water we couldn't survive, and that sometimes a cup of coffee or a glass of wine feels just as vital. But do we really understand how much we rely on liquids, or the destructive power they hold? Set over the course of a flight from London to San Francisco, Liquid Rules offers listeners a fascinating tour of these formless substances, told through the language of molecules, droplets, heartbeats, and ocean waves.

Liquids are scary
Revisado: 08-06-19
Thought you hated the preflight safety brief? You have some competition.
I learned quite a bit and view liquids in a slightly different way, even after studying chemistry, physics and engineering!

Historia
At first glance, Josh Hanagarne seems an improbable librarian. He stands 6'7", competes in strongman contests, and was diagnosed in high school with Tourette's syndrome. But books are his first love - Josh's earliest memories involve fantastic adventures between the pages of Gulliver’s Travels and a passionate infatuation with Fern from Charlotte’s Web. Everything in Josh’s life - from his Mormon upbringing, to finally finding love, to learning to control his tics through lifting - circles back to a close connection with books.

I took a chance and have no regrets.
Revisado: 01-05-15
I was really impressed I enjoyed this but I think differently from most. I have a chronic illness with no cure and I love how josh found a great way to heal himself, if not physically at least mentally. The bit about his faith may not be for everyone but he wasn't offensive to others of faith and he kept the discussion to his personal beliefs, nothing more. I'm not of his faith but enjoyed learning about it and how it both enhanced and hindered his life and "Miss T".
The narrator was a perfect partner for this book. I almost believed Josh was actually narrating at times. It really came across as though Josh was confiding in the listener.
I only read this because it was a daily deal at first. I'm glad I took a chance in this book. It's not my normal read but it enriched how I see things about my illness and faith.
