The first book felt like it was going in one direction and being dropped in the middle of chaos when it started out (that was the point) and was a little off-putting as the threads were coming together. This second book rounds it all out quite well.

It’s a quick and profound 40mins with the last 15mins being the most beneficial to listen to again and again, internalising and familiarising oneself with what is said.

tldr past this point:

Not what I anticipated. Excellent.

Glad I didn’t listen when I got it (years ago), and so glad I listened when I did. A few timelines are a bit confusing, but didn’t detract. So much that was relatable even if the parts of apartheid were not (just avoided being born into the same by a decade +), but the stories of it are similar to one’s in my family. The dating sequence was a revelation because they were rules that I never understood, but realise those were apparently the rules. Good to know there was a wonderful childhood even with the darker parts.

Very well told.

And, that Jesus…yeah, that was all faith intervening at every most important time, especially at the end. Can’t dispute that even if science is divided on it.

Highly recommend.
