I want to have a Five Star Weekend!
Revisado: 07-03-23
This was a nice light read that kept me engaged. It made me want to plan a 5 Star weekend and got me to think of which 5 friends from throughout my life I’d invite. The characters in the story were all so different and people I would of loved spending a weekend with ( which I kind of did). Great summer read!

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Historia
As a young mother with a toddler and a live-in boyfriend, Maggie Fisher's job at a checkout counter in downtown Phoenix doesn't afford her much financial flexibility. She dreams of going to college and becoming a teacher, options she squandered when she fled her family home as a teenager. When Maggie stumbles onto an ad offering thousands of dollars to women who are willing to gestate other people's babies, she at first finds the concept laughable. Before long, however, she's been seduced by all the ways the extra money could improve her life.

Historia
I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived—and my dad didn't. I'm almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis . . . and never rights itself again. Until I trespass into his strange, silent, and isolated world, Archer communicates with no one. Yet in his whiskey-colored eyes, something intangible happens between us.

A Hallmark Soft Porn Novel
Revisado: 01-08-23
The story was good. I got sick of every chapter detailed sex. One minute I felt like I was listening to the Hallmark channel and the perfect town the next minute I had to turn it down because I run listening to it with no headphones and people would think I’m listening to Pent House Magazine. Overall I enjoyed the story . Both main characters were sweet people who deserved a happy ending.

I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Revisado: 01-01-23
I’ve listened to a lot of audible books this year. This book was a nice change from the love stories and biographies I’ve chosen to listen to. I finished it pretty quickly because it was very entertaining and easy to follow. Lots of twists and turns. It would make a great movie!

Historia
Little River, New York, 1994: April Sawicki is living in a motorless motorhome that her father won in a poker game. Failing out of school, picking up shifts at a local diner, she’s left fending for herself in a town where she’s never quite felt at home. When she “borrows” her neighbor’s car to perform at an open mic night, she realizes her life could be much bigger than where she came from. After a fight with her dad, April packs her stuff and leaves for good, setting off on a journey to find a life that’s all hers.

Kelly was like listening to a good friend
Revisado: 10-09-22
I was trying to find a book to listen to during my morning runs. This was perfect. It was like listening to an interesting girlfriend that kept my mind occupied with entertaining stories. It was nice hearing about how she and Mark got together and raised 3 children and how everything is not as it seems. Hearing about what she went through when starting out on Regis and Kelly and the relationship they never really had was something I wasn’t aware of and had to listen again to that chapter. I would recommend this book for any woman that just loves to hear other people tell their life story. Kelly becomes your friend.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Revisado: 07-02-22
Wonderful story. Really well written. Definitely read if you are interested in the history of combat but more importantly read to get an understanding of how so many innocent people are forced to kill other innocent people and how war can physically, mentally and spiritually devastate those who fought.

Historia
Americans seldom deify their Founding Fathers any longer, but they do still tend to venerate the Constitution and the republican government that the founders created. Strikingly, the founders themselves were far less confident in what they had wrought, particularly by the end of their lives. In fact, most of them - including George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson - came to deem America's constitutional experiment an utter failure that was unlikely to last beyond their own generation.

Great look at how politics have been politics forever and also how adversaries come together and sacrifice around a common cause only to find regret when their heads clear.

Revisado: 07-15-21
If you enjoy a good story, Hail Mary is for you. I felt like I had known the characters all my life. The story was predictable but enjoyable. The narration was like listening to my friend, Brian, tell a story: genuine and fun. Don’t let the bad reviews fool you, this book is a winner.
