Trever does a great job of explaining heavy truths and painful histories while maintaining a level of humor and humanity that keeps the story from becoming emotionally overwhelming. He invites the reader to laugh with him about childish antics while also taking a magnifying lens to important but little discussed social dynamics.
My only complaint is that the ending came too soon. Well done, I’ll look forward to future works.

I love this story and have since the first time I read it in middle school but this Narrator says many of the characters names differently than I have heard them before, including other Pern Audio books.

Graphic rape and murder

I have been reading the sword of truth series from the beginning. Early on I really enjoy the series. Chain fire changed the writing from adventure to philosophical (some say preaching) but I kept with it hoping it was a lull. I stopped listening entirely as of chapter 15. I simply can't take another endless, detailed chapter describing specific acts of rape, decomposing corpses, and graphic descriptions of violence.
We get it- the Order is Baaaaad. One description per chapter please, not entire chapters of nothing but.
I'm debating whether to even try listening to the next one or just return the rest of the series and call it quits. The plot thread is still buried under all that graphic gorey detail but I'm just not sure it's worth it any more
Also, switching narrators regularly is one thing but can they agree how to pronounce the names please?
