Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

I wish they had gotten a guy to speak the male voices because it sounds so weird having a very clear female voice voicing men. Other than that it was great.

Historia
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers. The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing.

Maybe I should have read this first
Revisado: 02-18-25
Let me begin with if this narrator says “breeches” instead of “britches” in the rest of the books, I HAVE to read the rest of this series or I will lose my mind 😂. Otherwise, some of this story is a bit cringe-y to me and I love a good romantasy ok. But... I wanted to love it but I’m not sure if this particular story is for me? Kinda bummed about that after all the hype 🥲
It also may just be the particular voice actors for this graphic audio production (parts 1&2). So yeah, I’ll probably read the rest of it vs listening to this.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people.

I love these
Revisado: 10-06-23
First of all this book is way better than the first one. Second of all I love love love the dramatized versions that graphic audio produces. The normal audio versions of these are so boring to me now. I do wish that they didn’t make one single book be more than 1 audible credit, though. Having to pay 2-3 credits for 1 book is a bummer.

I hated this narrator
Revisado: 09-14-23
But I like this story. The beginning is just…pretty slow. I wasn’t entirely sure it wouldn’t get better, but it did. I actually switched from this version to the dramatized version (it’s in 2 parts) after listening to this version for about 3 painful hours.

I wanted to love this book. I just found it super super cringey. And I love romances. So that’s saying something. The narrator also sadly didn’t do it for me. The voicing of the men’s parts in the book was probably the most cringey for me personally. I think overall if I had read this via kindle or paperback I may have enjoyed it more. But I made my choice and I followed through with it! Overall it’s a cute, heartwarming story. Just not very attention-grabbing.
