Historia
Guns, germs, and steel might have transformed us from hunter-gatherers into modern man, but booze, sex, trash talk, and tripping built our civilization. Cracked editor Robert Evans brings his signature dogged research and lively insight to uncover the many and magnificent ways vice has influenced history, from the prostitute-turned-empress who scored a major victory for women's rights to the beer that helped create - and destroy - South America's first empire.

Great book, great stuff, Robert should narrate

The narrator just doesn't capture Robert Evans' cadence or tone at all. Even a little

Historia
The War of the Three Gods is a military history of the Near and Middle East in the seventh century - with its chief focus on the reign of the Eastern Roman Emperor Heraclius (AD 610-641) - a pivotal and dramatic time in world history. The Eastern Roman Empire was brought to the very brink of extinction by the Sassanid Persians before Heraclius managed to inflict a crushing defeat on the Sassanids with a desperate, final gambit.

Good book, good history, bad narrator

Someone should have been directing pronunciation. Iranian words were the worst offenders (pronouncing Tehran like Turan especially caught me off guard), but English words too, like parley and quay.
