Historia
Modern culture is increasingly outspoken against a biblical understanding of what it means to be a woman. Even some Christians, swayed by the LGBTQ+ movement, have rejected God’s word on issues of sexuality and gender in favor of popular opinion. In light of these pressures, it’s more important than ever to help women see the truth about who God created them to be. In this powerful book, Rosaria Butterfield uses Scripture to confront 5 common lies about sexuality, faith, feminism, gender roles, and modesty often promoted in our secular culture today.

Truth and love addressing most important issues
Revisado: 10-30-23
Butterfield is a credible voice who offers clarity on complex issues. She provides well documented truth with love and compassion for those in alternative lifestyles and for those who love the ones struggling. The book is unapologetically Christian and offers hope for navigating hopeless times.

Historia
We live in a cultural moment where the definition of “woman” eludes the keenest of thinkers and brightest of scientists, where one’s biological sex and one’s gender are divorced, where the meaning of gender itself is a constantly moving target, and where girls and women, especially, struggle to know who they are. Where societal confusion has naturally ensued from this state of affairs, and Christians especially wonder how to think and respond to it, Katie J. McCoy offers a clear and helpful guide in her debut book, To Be a Woman.

Revisado: 09-29-23
McCoy’s book is thorough compassion, and very fair. Her book takes an extensive look at psychology, sociology, and biology to form a a multifaceted picture of gender. She makes a compelling case that well-meaning people are actually causing irreparable harm to many young lives. This book is a must read for those looking to speak intelligently about this topic.

Historia
This provocative audiobook starts with an unlikely interview in which America’s foremost skeptic builds a seemingly persuasive case against the miraculous. But then Strobel travels the country to quiz scholars to see whether they can offer solid answers to atheist objections. Along the way, he encounters astounding accounts of healings and other phenomena that simply cannot be explained away by naturalistic causes. The audiobook features the results of exclusive new scientific polling that shows miracle accounts are much more common than people think.

Strobel carefully examines the bias against miracles today. At the same time he speaks to the difficulties of when God chooses to not answer fervent prayer. By the end of the book I was satisfied that all permanent questions were addressed. It left me with a greater desire to press on though all circumstances and entrust my life to the Lord.

Historia
Let's make a deal, you and me. Let's make promises to each other. I promise to tell you my story. The whole story. I'll tell you about a boy in love with Jesus, who, at the fateful onset of puberty, realized his sexual attractions were persistently and exclusively for other guys. I'll tell you how I lay on my bed in the middle of the night and whispered to myself the words I've whispered 1000 times since: "I'm gay." I'll show you the world through my eyes.

Helpful story of a godly man with same sex attraction
Revisado: 11-26-21
Christians are called to love Christ by obeying Scripture AND by loving all people. We love people by caring enough to enter into their worlds. What is it like to have homosexual desire and no heterosexual interest? This is a wonderful and candid story of a “Single, Gay, Christian.”
I found this helpful in relating to a similar person who is a close friend. This story does not give simple answers. But it is true to Scripture and provides hope and understanding.
Very helpful.

Historia
Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe.

Jaw dropping scientific facts and a fun listen
Revisado: 11-06-21
A compelling and extensive compilation of science that point to design. Fine tuning: for life to exist our planet needs to be just right - to a ridiculous degree! The Earth’s size, location in space, still make it seem impossible for life to exist. Metaxas has me hooked from the beginning. Plus, the author is smart and funny. I’ve ordered 3 hard copies to encourage friends in the science community. A must read / listen.

Historia
Caleb Kalenbach is the Lead Pastor at Discovery Church in Simi Valley, CA. Raised in the LGBT community, he was exposed to how some Christians treated the LGBT community, and grew to hate Christians. In high school, he joined a Bible study to disprove the Bible, but ended up following Jesus instead. Later, his parents followed Jesus, too. This is the subject of his first book, Messy Grace - holding on to the truth of God's Word while being filled with grace.
