I only wish more of LJ Andrew’s books were available on Audible. Hopefully more will be as her popularity grows. She does a nice job of pulling things altogether in her books and weaving characters from other hooks into new ones. It’s been a real treat to find this author!

Historia
A queen now in exile as a traitor, Lara has watched Ithicana be conquered by her own father, helpless to do anything to stop the destruction. But when she learns her husband, Aren, has been captured in battle, Lara knows there is only one reason her father is keeping him alive: as bait for his traitorous daughter. And it is bait she fully intends to take. Risking her life to the Tempest Seas, Lara returns to Ithicana with a plan not only to free its king, but for liberating the Bridge Kingdom from her father’s clutches using his own weapons: the sisters whose lives she spared.

I usually don't write reviews....
Revisado: 03-08-20
But wow, just wow! I lost a ton of sleep this week listening to the book in bed. I usually nod off listening to a book but this one did just the opposite. I couldn't stop listening. So many twists and turns and the tension between the main characters was exquisite. (SPOILER ALERT) I don't love it when authors kill off characters and to my relief she didn't. I wanted this book to keep going. I was excited to see there are two more books on the way. It's especially nice that these are part of the romance package so it was free!

In this second installment of her breathtaking De Montforte Brothers series, critically acclaimed author Danelle Harmon introduces us to Englishman Lord Charles de Montforte, who awakens in the tender care of an American beauty after being wounded in battle. Regret....
Revisado: 07-22-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No...I forced myself to listen to it since I just purchased it but just couldn't do it.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Anything NOT by this narrator. He was painful to listen to. He was not great in the first book, The Wild One, but I hoped he would improve. Sadly it got worse with the women's voices being the most painful.
How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator could have saved this book.
Could you see The Beloved One being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
It is too much like Cinderella.
Any additional comments?
Not sure how this got such great reviews by others? I keep telling myself that even if the series is good but the narrator gets poor reviews...just don't do it!

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

As good as they say....
Revisado: 01-16-16
Where does Flowers from the Storm rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of my top 5 fiction (ok, romance) books I've ever read. I bought it after I kept reading the amazing reviews. It really was amazing. The characters, the drama, the narrator were all stellar.
What other book might you compare Flowers from the Storm to and why?
Last time I rated a book so high it was one of the "Outlander" series.
What does Nicholas Boulton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Hearing the Duke's character develop was astounding. I could not have heard it as beautifully if I had read it. I felt his frustration and agony.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the Duke is helpless. When Maddy Girl listens to her heart.

Historia
Little else in life is as dangerous as fire jumping. Flying past towering pillars of smoke, parachuting down to the edge of an all-consuming blaze, shoveling and sawing for hours upon hours, days at a time, all to hold the line and push back against the raw power of Mother Nature. But there’s also little else as thrilling - at least to Rowan Tripp. The Missoula smoke jumpers are one of the most exclusive firefighting squads in the nation, and the job is in Rowan’s blood: her father is a legend in the field. She’s been fighting fires since her eighteenth birthday.

Still Nora...but not a "smart" book.
Revisado: 04-12-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
It was just ok. If you needed a Nora Roberts fix it would do.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I enjoyed learning about the "smoke jumper" culture. I learned quite a bit.
What about Rebecca Lowman’s performance did you like?
Her voices were ok.
Did Chasing Fire inspire you to do anything?
Have more respect for people who fight wildfires.

Think twice...
Revisado: 04-12-15
Would you try another book from Amy Jarecki and/or Paul Woodson?
No, it was poorly written and even more poorly narrated. Don't get me wrong...I'm a sucker for any guy in a kilt, but this was just not worth finishing. Every time the female character spoke it sounded like Nathan Lane in the movie "Bird Cage". I guess I just couldn't get past that..
Has Captured by the Pirate Laird turned you off from other books in this genre?
Heck no, like I said....it's a kilt thing!
What didn’t you like about Paul Woodson’s performance?
Non-believable women's voice. Inconsistent lead male voice.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Didn't get past the 5th chapter.
Any additional comments?
There's a lot of hot Scottish Lairds out there. Don't suffer through this tale.

I love the fact that there is something that physically challenges each female lead but they overcome it.

I did love it!
