Historia
He pulled off what some deem the crime of the century: skyjacking a commercial jetliner, collecting a ransom of $200,000, parachuting off the aft stairs of the Boeing 727 into the night, and simply disappearing. Since November 1971, “D. B. Cooper”—no one knows his real name or identity—has become a figure of enduring fascination and obsession. The FBI pursued him for over forty years, before closing the case and leaving it unsolved. Unsolved, perhaps, but much admired. D. B. Cooper’s exploit over the skies of the American Northwest has inspired books, films, and endless speculation.

Excellent coverage

I knew the two pilots on AA 119 but had never heard the full, amazing story. Very detailed coverage of many other hijackings of the time, and interesting perspective on DB Cooper’s caper. -JJ

Historia
When Mark Meadows took control of the Trump White House in March of 2020, the nation was in turmoil. A deadly coronavirus had arrived from Wuhan, China, and brought the rhythm of daily life under President Trump - defined by a soaring stock market, sinking unemployment rates, and a renewed sense of pride in being an American - to a grinding halt. In this frank, candid account of his 10 months in the White House, Mark Meadows tells the harrowing story of how he and a close team of loyal advisors helped President Trump bring the country back from the brink of catastrophe.

The Chief's Sycophant
Revisado: 10-26-23
As a moderate Republican who has read several books about Trump's time in the Whitehouse, including three by current Trump allies, Mr. Meadows's account of events falls far short of the consensus truth. In some cases, other accounts sugar-coat some of Trump's shenanigans, but Meadows's account is so far untethered from reality, that he seems to be aiming at an audience of one--DJT.
As a conservative Christian Republican, Mr. Meadows should be ashamed. That he has now turned state's evidence against Mr. Trump either shows that he is trying to stay out jail or that he has finally realized he was on the wrong side of history and reality. For the sake of our country, I hope the latter.

Historia
A firsthand account from the blue-collar boy who grew up to take on Disney and Dr. Fauci, The Courage to Be Free delivers something rare from an elected leader: stories of victory. This book is a winning blueprint for patriots across the country. And it is a rallying cry for every American who wishes to preserve our liberties.

Good
Revisado: 03-06-23
Gov DeSantis has done a number of good things in past four years, but he omitted some very important missteps. He would also be better served by calling Trump out instead of being careful. Played right, MR DeSantis could be the voice of Republican moderates like me, but he has to get out of Trump’s shadow.

Historia
An international conspiracy among powerful bankers, business leaders, and government officials; closed-door meetings in the Swiss Alps; and calls for a radical transformation of every society on earth - the Great Reset sounds like it is one henchman-with-an-eyepatch away from being the plot for the next James Bond movie. But The Great Reset is not a work of fiction. It is a highly influential movement among the world’s elite to “reset” the global economy using banks, government programs, and environmental, social, and governance metrics.

Where is the PDF?
Revisado: 03-20-22
This is the first audible non-fiction book I have downloaded that did not include a PDF for referenced supplementary information, in this case footnotes. I think it's a cheap shot by Mr Beck to suggest that I buy his paper book when I thought I was already buying a complete book. Really?
I enjoyed a lot of the information in the book, but Mr Beck, as usual, weaves selected facts together, then insinuates sinister motives to support his latest conspiracy theory. Society is evolving, as it always will, but THEY are not out to get us. Truth to tell, THEY aren't cooperative enough to get us, even if that was their aim. You should always be skeptical when authors use nonspecific THEY a lot.
I also resent his impugning people like Bill Gates who are using their money and influence to solve world problems. For example, I was pleased to read that Mr Beck is a proponent of nuclear power, but I'm betting he isn't pouring much personal wealth into its modernization and deployment. Bill Gates is.
I recommend boycotting the audio book until he comes up with a footnotes PDF!

Good, but not very plausible
Revisado: 07-18-15
I enjoyed the story, and I liked a lot of the technical detail, but much was quite implausible. No test company or pilot would allow an outside reporter on a functional test flight, nor would a test pilot ever intentionally exceed the design limits of an in-service airplane to duplicate an event thought to have occurred in revenue service.
I think this is is certification stuff--if even that. Pretty contrived in that regard.
Still a fun story. Thanks.
