Heavy on information but a little light on advice.
Revisado: 01-31-25
This book is a great overview of positive psychology and related fields, especially as they relate to work. My only critique is that it feels like you’re learning about the concepts, rather than learning how to apply them to your life. However there is some good advice sprinkled throughout. Overall, it’s a book worth reading for anyone who wants to thrive at work.

Fascinating biography of a complicated man.
Revisado: 01-08-25
This book describes the life of Thomas Jefferson in a fair and honest way. Jefferson was enormously important in the fight for human liberty, yet he also held slaves. Reading this biography leads to both reverence and critique for a man who ultimately helped change the course of history for the better.

Historia
Marx and Engels were right when they observed in the Communist Manifesto that free markets had in a short time created greater prosperity and more technological innovation than all previous generations combined. A century and a half later, all the evidence shows that capitalism has lifted millions and millions from hunger and poverty. Today's story about global capitalism, shared by right-wing and left-wing populists, but also by large sections of the political and economic establishment, does not deny that prosperity has been created, but it says it ended up in far too few hands.
