Did Not like this as much
Revisado: 03-16-25
I cannot stand all this graphic disgusting sex. If you like porn you will love this, but I am barely getting through this book. I skip the graphic sex scenes but the story is so so. I hate weak men and Jamie is definitely one of those. I did not care for any of the characters though. Not like his last book I read which was The Psychopath Next Door. Found out that book was a continuation of a series so I thought I would pick this one up as it is Book 1. I don’t know if I will make it to the end of the book. I am bored with all the stupidity and disgusted with all the detailed sex. I don’t care if this is a series, I don’t think I will continue the series if any of the other books are like this one. I know series are a continuation of the same story but sometimes you get tired of the exact same plot line.

WOW
Revisado: 03-14-25
This book was amazing on all levels. narration was exceptional and the story was so very good. I couldn't stop listening ...totally drew me in and I loved every minute. I did not expect the ending at all. I will be reading more by this author ....I have not read his books before and I can't wait to start another and another of his work.
I know everyone has their own taste in storylines but I don't know how anyone would not like this book.

confusion on steroids
Revisado: 03-10-25
DNF...I got to chapter 85 and I just couldn't continue, I just didn't care anymore who did what. There was so much confusion. I had to keep rewinding and re-listening to the point it was exhausting and my mind kept wandering. There was just too much going on and I felt the author was trying for too much shock factor and there was certainly no thriller aspect of this book in my opinion.

Socially awkward Chloe Cooper divides her time between dog walking, bartending, caring for her ailing mother, and at a safe distance, watching people and inventing the stories of their lives. Fantastic!!
Revisado: 03-01-25
This was the best book I have listened to for a very long long time. What an excellent storyline and so very well written and narrated. Everything was 5 stars about this book. I was so drawn into the characters I could not stop listening. I will be thinking about this book for a long time. Don't hesitate...it's definitely worth a credit.

Confusion
Revisado: 02-17-25
I really did not enjoy this book. I tried to give it a chance and I did stick with it to the end, however I found it extremely confusing. There were parts where I thought it was going to get interesting and easier to follow but they were fleeting and I soon found my mind wandering again. It took so much energy to focus on the narration that it was definitely not worth sticking through it. I have heard good things about this author I am not familiar with this author however I don't think I'm going to seek out more of her books if they are anything like this one. I just felt like I wasted so much time trying to make it work when it just didn't work for me. I still don't understand the ending if somebody asked me who ended up with who and who was doing time for the murder I would have to say I have no idea. I have read other books where I cannot even focus on anything except the book, and I am totally engrossed in the story and I can't wait to read it and I don't ever want it to end but this book was not like that at all. I'm just so glad it's over.

FINALLY!! A five star book in my opinion!
Revisado: 02-08-25
I tried reading this book maybe a year ago and I couldn't get into it but it was totally my frame of mind not the book. I thought I'd give it another go and oh my goodness it had my attention from the start and I could not stop listening. I was finished it in 2 days. I couldn't wait to get up in the morning to start listening. I have had a very hard time lately finding a five-star book and this was like a drink of ice cold water in the desert. Such a good book.

Revisado: 02-01-25
I thought it was okay. I did not care for the storyline too much. I kept listening hoping I would feel more for the characters but I just could not seem to care.
it was overall just depressing and I kept waiting for it to get better. I'm surprised at the stellar reviews.

Horrible
Revisado: 01-29-25
I DNF and could not get past chapter 6. I found it to be disgusting with all the explicit horrible sex, just so disgusting. Horrible story line nauseating to the core. I have nothing good to say except it was free and I didn't waste money or a credit on this garbage. Wish I didn't keep listening to chapter 6 hoping it would get better. Couldn't take anymore. There needs to be some sort of warning so people realize what the content is about.

just meh
Revisado: 01-23-25
I did not like the storyline really. I would not classify it as a thriller. I would say it is a saga of a bunch of people with issues. It became very boring to me after 1/3 of the way in. I kept listening just because it passed the time. but honestly I didn't really care if I knew the ending. Speaking of the ending It was alright if you like sappy feel good endings. I do...but it was a bit too sappy for me. Not trying to be too critical and some people might love this type of book. it just wasn't my favourite.

Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

Boredom
Revisado: 12-12-24
This was the most boring book I have ever read. I still have 3 hours left but I just can't hang in there anymore. It drags and drags on and I can't stay focused .....there's certainly no thriller here. Just wishing it would end. But I have given up hoping it gets better.
I had to return it I just didn't care what happened.
