Historia
While taking photographs at an exposition in Seattle in 1909, Camera Girl Eleanor Bennet snaps an image of a woman in widow's clothes with deep sorrow etched in her expression and a young infant in her arms. Eleanor longs to study botany at the University of Washington and soon becomes fast friends with botanist Bill Reed, but she can't stop thinking about the widow in the photograph. She is stunned to learn Bill recognizes the woman as the sister-in-law he believed lost in a shipwreck.

I continue to love this series, and only wish the next (hopefully there will be one) would come out tomorrow! I pray that God would raise up more people like those portrayed here. I don’t know if any real person is quite as good but I hope they exist. I know some are trying to be. There was a lot of recap in this book (from previous books) but some added twists as well. Well worth a listen and well read as always by this narrator.

Historia
Kat Wadsworth and Sebastian Jones never imagined their lives would entwine so closely. Forced to flee on a wagon train from a vengeful uncle and an unknown gunman, they live in a hidden canyon with the family that rescued them. But as the days turn into months, they each have separate reasons for wanting to move back to society, and the best way to the independence they desperately crave might be through a marriage of convenience.

Enjoyable, clean and exciting
Revisado: 02-20-25
I have enjoyed every book I have read or listened to by this author. This one deals w real issues of the past (women being locked up in asylums despite not being mentally ill and the horrific treatment there) but not so much as to be overwhelming. A lovely clean romance and HEA too. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Historia
The year is 1901, and the hustle and bustle of the holidays is descending on New York's Fifth Avenue. For the first time in her privileged life, Adelaide Forsythe couldn’t be happier about the prospect of a quiet Christmas. That’s not to say her transition from Missto Mrs. has been without challenge. Though she doesn’t regret marrying for love instead of wealth, she feels woefully unprepared to run her own household. Then, on the first Sunday of Advent, winter winds bring surprising change, first through a young orphan boy and then a seasoned housekeeper who seems too good to be true.

Historia
New York, 1898. The only thing more shocking than Arthur Stanhope III’s unexpected death is the revelation that his will bestows his company—and most of the vast fortune that goes with it—to the nearest male heir, leaving his mother, wife, and daughter nearly impoverished. His widow, Sylvia, quickly realizes she must set aside her grief to ensure their daughter, Adelaide, is launched into society as soon as the appropriate mourning period passes.

I will listen to this again to catch the little details I missed the first time through. A glimpse into worlds of the past, both rich and poor. And a beautiful HEA. As always a clean worthwhile tale pulling all together. I highly recommend any work by this author. Well read as well.

But what Tucker himself can’t see is how to let go of the past and forgive his father. On a sprawling Southern estate, Tucker and his younger brother, Mutt, were raised by their housekeeper, Miss Ella Rain, who loved the motherless boys like her own. Hiring her to take care of Waverly Hall and the boys was the only good thing their father ever did.

It’s sad to remember how hard life can be for kids without stable families, but in this story at least, the end is happy. I enjoyed it. May we all lend ourselves to the needs to be found around us. The world will be better for it.
