Historia
Beth and Cath are leaving their husbands. This is a story about two very different women. One is wealthy and having an affair with a man who gives her the kind of love that her cold, detached husband does not. One is living hand to mouth, suffering at the hands of a violent partner who would rather see her dead than leave him. You may think you know these women already and how their lives will unfold. Beth will live happily ever after with her little girl and her soulmate. Cath will go back to her abusive husband. And these two women will never cross paths. But you will be wrong.

Thoroughly great escapist entertainment
Revisado: 01-05-23
I so enjoyed the different voices of the “storyteller” I could actually “see” the characters.
The storyline was modern and fresh. Overall, I enjoyed the fact that justice is served, albeit in a creatively interpreted way.

Mystery with a twist
Revisado: 06-10-22
This is just the sort of mystery I enjoy reading. And I found that the performance levels really added to the story. I love hearing the Irish accents which you don’t get if you are reading a story.I am going to read/listen to more books by this author.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

“Masterpiece”, is not over stating this beautiful story
Revisado: 03-19-22
In the same vein as Schindler’s List, this book transports the reader through a gamut of human emotions and situations of tragedy and triumph.
The narration is exquisite! Each character’s voice perfectly portrayed, flawlessly by one person!
I thoroughly enjoyed this audible book. I would like to read/listen to more books just like this.

Historia
Elsie Dinsmore is an endearing 8-year-old girl with several bewildering problems. She has never known her mother, who died when Elsie was a baby, and she longs for a close, loving relationship with her father. He, however, has sent her off to be raised at Roselands, his brother's Southern plantation, where her teacher, Miss Day, harshly criticizes her and her cousins tease her relentlessly.

An enjoyable book but a bit juvenile.
Revisado: 01-19-22
Do you like the challenge and audiobook to portray from a very young child two grown adults to elderly person. However Elsie Dinsmore‘s voice I found to be annoying. And the mention of her crying all the time tearfully enduring ridicule and teasing too constant. I found myself hoping that her character with age and the necessity for her Mickey Mouse this child’s voice would change to a more pleasing tone.
