What did you like best about Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection? What did you like least?

I got my titles of his books all mixed up. I really like his Reckoners series but the Mistborn bored the day lights out of me. They are read well, it's just that it references things I have no clue about. I thought that this book would have parts from all of them, but I was misstaken and now a bit bored.

Would you be willing to try another book from Brandon Sanderson? Why or why not?

I'll stick with the Reckoners series.

Would you try another book from Deanna Chase and/or Gabra Zackman?

Have read or listened to other Deanna Chase books and loved it. This one was seriously lacking. Didn't keep my interest, felt like there should've been a book before this one to explain what was going on as it seemed normal for everyone to see fairies, vampires and witches with no one seeming to be just plain human and confused, cept me.

What didn’t you like about Gabra Zackman’s performance?

Her "David" voice was completely annoying, it just made my ears hurt, all the other voices were fine except that she sounded as if she were reading porn, quite a few times it was innocent but made me roll my eyes in just the way she spoke.

Gonna pass on the rest of the series. Not for me.

Would you listen to Five Portraits again? Why?

Probably not

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I almost turned it off. The narrator emphasizing every time someone said something "he said", "Candy said" drove me crazy. I'm sure it read like that but it was read as if "I don't know, Candy said" with emphasis on the "Candy said". After about 15 ".... Saids" in a row, it gets rather annoying.

Any additional comments?

After years of reading Piers Anthony books, the puns never get old. I still find it funny and clever. I just found the narration of these two books to be annoying with the emphasis on the saids. Listen for a bit and you'll get what I mean. It gets old, quick.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I enjoyed this like all the rest. Always liking any of them that involve both Skeeve and Aahz interacting together.

What was most disappointing about Robert Asprin and Jody Lynn Nye ’s story?

Really annoyed by the constant "Author's note". Wow, shameless plug much? Found it to be really annoying, especially for those of us who have been reading these books from the start.

What made the experience of listening to Trapped the most enjoyable?

After the long wait, I got to finally hear the continuing story of Atticus and Graunuele, but mostly Oberon.

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

Oberon, Oberon, Oberon, I totally love that dog. Reminds me of my dogs, if they could talk that is. My female is all about them belly rubs.

"Waxing poetically" is another term for running at the mouth for 20 minutes. I found the guys story to be quite long and boring. Sorry, bad with names but when you get to this part, you'll know exactly what I mean.

For an agnostic man, Piers sure can get into some detail about God and Satan. Somewhere during the middle I noticed a bit of "Dante's inferno". After listening to the first 5 and really disliking Satan, my opinion of him changed when you get to see things from his point of view. Oh call me a heratic, but I find myself sympathizing with this poor character. As always, very well written. Still not crazy bout the narrator although she did a better job in this one than book 5. Maybe because she did not have to do any fairy or nymph voices in this one.

The narrator makes my ears bleed

I'm only on chapter 2, but I was driving down the road and jumped at one point because her voice made my ears hurt. Her sprite and hemadriad voices are just horrible. I think my dogs head tilted as she hit a volume level that only my dog could hear. While I love all things Piers Anthony, this narrator was absolutely not meant for this job.

Agree bout the narrator but enjoyed the book

The narrator's voices were so bad that at many times I had to rewind the audio because I would totally zone out and miss a section. I cringed every time he said "Kai Ron". Although I did like Leo's voice the rest sounded exactly the same. I did enjoy Jesse Bernstein except for when he did the Pegasi voice, oh that was very irritating. Next time hire someone with vocal range. Please. All in all I love Riordan's knowledge of Greek and Roman mythology. Many a times I would have to look his story back ground up on a search engine and he was spot on. I've learned more about Greek and Roman mythology from his books than I ever learned in school.
