Historia
From executive producers of The Walking Dead and Travis Beacham, the writer of Pacific Rim, comes a heart-stopping Audible Original featuring a brilliant British cast. It’s the near future and seven years since a comet hit the earth and blotted out the sun. The world is a dark, frozen landscape. And then, beastly creatures emerge and take over. A story of apocalypse, horror, and adventure, Impact Winter is a wholly original new saga created just for Audible with immersive 3D audio that dares you to pop in your earbuds and listen in the dark.

Almost perfect, but I’m being picky
Revisado: 03-22-22
The overall story is pretty great and the actors are awesome. Where the story falls short for me, is how much time was spent on the front end building up to the end, and then the end just…..happens. This being an audiobook/show/podcast, it’s not like time constraints are an issue and would have liked more story around the ending.
It does feel like the story can/will continue, which is awesome.
Definitely worth the time and again, I’m just being picky. Can’t wait for the next storyline!

Historia
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." Ryan at his best!
Revisado: 07-21-16
This is a book that everyone, no matter your're profession, age, political affiliation, religion or race needs to read. The way that Ryan Holiday presents the conversation about ego and its ever present existence in ALL people whiling bringing to the forefront necessary questions and thoughts we all NEED to be asking ourselves on a daily basis is inspiring.
Some of the reviews have said that this book is sad or a "downer" and I can see where that may come through for some folks as self reflection sometimes isn't pretty nor is it meant to be. Personally I thought this book was enlightening. It presented me with the challenge to really ask myself uncomfortable questions about who I am, what I want to achieve and how do I want to get there.
It's really great to have a select few amazing individuals in the world who are here to remind us the stoic philosophy and it's teachings are still extremely relevant in today's world.

Historia
Levitt and co-author Stephen J. Dubner show that economics is, at root, the study of incentives: how people get what they want, or need, especially when other people want or need the same thing. In Freakonomics, they explore the hidden side of...well, everything. The inner working of a crack gang...the truth about real-estate agents...the secrets of the Klu Klux Klan. What unites all these stories is a belief that the modern world is even more intriguing than we think. All it takes is a new way of looking, and Freakonomics will redefine the way we view the modern world.

A bit disappointed to be honest.

I had heard a lot about this book and was really excited to start listening. The narration was great which made listening easy and comfortable; huge plus as some narrators can kill a book. The content on the other hand I felt was a bit lacking. The conceptual idea that thinking differently and asking better questions to yield more in depth and interesting conclusions was what drew me to the book in the first place. The examples discussed weren't as captivating as I had hoped and to me there was nothing "freak" about it. Maybe they spent more time digging into data than others normally would and maybe their conclusions weren't of the norm, but this isn't earth shattering stuff here. That said, the lack of the 'ah ha' moment doesn't mean the book is bad. I mostly enjoyed it, but it doesn't deserve the overhyped status it's received. I'd still recommend reading it, but if you temper your expectations and take it at face value, you may have a better experience than I did.
