Historia
It’s time to change the conversation—about work, life, and “balance.” Work and life are inextricably, intimately intertwined. We need to celebrate what we do give our children—even and especially in moments of imbalance—rather than apologizing for what we don’t. In this way, we can model for our children how we use our talents to help others and raise awareness about the issues closest to our hearts.

Good read

I enjoyed this book and finished it in no time. As a working mom, in an Academic position, the book surprisingly made me feel like I was not ambitious enough, so it was not really the feel good self help book I was expecting. There is a slight bias towards the stories of very highly achieving women, but the author attempts to present a balanced view, which I appreciated.

Historia
Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. When Lydia’s husband’s tell-all profile of Javier, the jefe of the newest drug cartel that has gruesomely taken over the city, is published, none of their lives will ever be the same.

Excellent Book

I am a Hispanic woman who moved to the US ten years ago. While my story is very different than this, I loved this book. The details, the complex characters, and the vivid descriptions. It has made me more aware of the migrant crisis, and at the end, the author does a good job addressing any potential limitations regarding her views and the fact that she is not Mexican. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Master one of our economy’s most rare skills and achieve groundbreaking results with this “exciting” audiobook (Daniel H. Pink) from an “exceptional” author (New York Times Book Review). Deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. It's a skill that allows you to quickly master complicated information and produce better results in less time. Deep Work will make you better at what you do and provide the sense of true fulfillment that comes from craftsmanship.

Good lessons

Chapters 5, 6 and 7 are excellent and useful. The rest is repetitive and somewhat preachy.
